Re: Scrapbookers..........

thats perfect Erica!!

I did a book for Harry, that I gave to him the night of our rehersal dinner that was a book about us!! how we meet, the places we worked, vacations we took, parties we wnet to and the end was pic from our engagement party and the very last page was the words to our wedding song!!

About the pictures, I upload mine to Shutterfly or Ofoto and buy prints from them. They come out GREAT and not to expensive (compared to ink for the printer!! )

You can a) order prints off shutterfly.com copyrights or not they do it or just go to the Color copier at Kinkos. They only review photos if you use that Kodak machine, but the color copies are your own business

Re: Scrapbookers..........

can you tell me a little more about copying at kinkos?

if you use the kodak machine, what happens? is there another machine? do you put photo paper in it?

Re: Scrapbookers..........

when you use the Kodak machine...the clerk in the store must look at your pictures to make sure that they are not copyrighted. If they feel that the picture violates the copyright law, they will rip up the copied picture. I know...it happened to me!!

Re: Scrapbookers..........

so if we use their color copier, it's fine? How's the quality? Almost as good as the original? What's the avg cost per 4x6 pic?

Teri: To get the pics we went to sams club. they have a scanner and it was just $.20/pic. Takes about 1 min to do a pic- then pick them up either in an hour or next day depending how busy they were. Its like the photo maker machine from kodak only cheaper. Costco in Holbrook doesn't offer this yet.

Teri - I think if you could use photo quality paper in the copier it would be comprable to using your printer. I think 'they' say that lasts 50 years or so. I would guess it's about a dollar per page but you could fit more then one phot per page and trim them. I have scanned some pics & uploaded to shutterfly that came out fine.

How are these dates- they are all sundays- October 19 or Nov 2? It will be from around 12-4, cost $10. Drinks and snacks will be served. Plus you can use the die cut machines.

Re: Scrapbookers..........

I started with about $100 of stuff from Michaels
These were the things I bought first-

personal paper trimmer
adhesive
stickers
paper
card stock
vellum
page protectors
a few punches

I read somewhere that you should pick one recent event & start with that-because it's fresh in your mind. Then start organizing pics in chronological order & buy stuff to match with the events & themes you plan to scrap.
I have now gone back & done most of my son & my stepdaughters baby pics & big events. And over the weekend I worked on our most recent vacation.
I didn't even have a book for the first few months, just my loose pages. Then I got the book I wanted on Ebay-now I have 4!
I'm a shutterfly lover-even though we bought a professional quality photo printer, I still like shutterfly. I also use repositionable adhesive so if I needed to get a picture off a page I could.

I love it!!! It's my most favorite of all my crafts & hobbies!

In terms of printing pictures
I have been using digital pics for a few years now and have tried all the online sites as well as the regulars(cvs eckerd, costco, etc) as well as printing my own--
Well last month I bought a new printer and all I can say is WOW--- I used it to print all my pics from the last year to get my album up to date-- and I have also compared it to shots that were deceloped professionally and it is so hard to tell which is which--ok advertisement over I bought the Canon i950--- it was on the higher end $249 but IMO completely worth it

RichsBride Posted:

Re: Scrapbookers..........

its basically a paper cutter-it cuts up to 12x12 & is really easy to use.
