Seafood in Port Jeff??

What are some good seafood restaurants in Port Jefferson??

I want to take my mom there for her birthday on Sunday but I have no idea what is good. She loved it there so much so I was hoping to take her out for a day trip??

Any suggestions? She loves lobster!!!!!

Dockside is awesome

I went to Danfords on Friday night and it was awesome. The chilean sea bass was AMAZING as were the crabcakes. My girlfriend had salmon and she was raving. Her huband had filet mignon and he was really pleased. The only person that was unhapy was my husband. He had raw oysters *they were rinsed so they had no taste!* and the prime rib which was served lukewarm. We ended with chocolate mousse cake and cheesecake. Both EXCELLENT.
They changed the chef and the quality of the food has changed, from what I here. Zagat gives it a really good rating as well.

I ate at Dockside for dinner the next day. Totally unimpressed. GREAT service but the crabcake was HORRIBLE. Husband had prime rib and was very happy. I had lobster which was good but lobster is lobster. Hard to get it wrong. Danfords had a better selection and was a bit more creative in terms of what was on the menu.

I use to work at Dockside, and they have the best food ever! Great chef and coming from someone who worked there everything is fresh! They own they're own boats that travel all the way up to Maine to catch fresh fish.

They also own the Stream Room, but that is more a fast food style place.

Have fun! Port Jeff is so beautiful. I'm going there today to pick up our wedding rings.
