Seal 'n send invitations
Anyone using a seal 'n send kind of invitation? Received one? Seen one in action?I came across them on Paper Presentation's web-site and thought they were such a great idea! We used a postcard style STD that came out really great. I love the idea of no envelopes and saving on postage.
I was initially thinking to be a little DIY for a pocket fold invitation but after getting a sample in the mail, I have to say I'm not too crazy about it and we don't have the need for many inserts making the pocket fold not practical for us.
If you've never seen one, here is a link to a sample on Etsy: Seal 'n send
I just really hope the person who designed our STD can make this happen!
Thoughts?

Re: Seal 'n send invitations
I thought they were cute and eco-friendly (I love eco-friendly stuff) but not practical in our case since we'd be adding direction cards and hotel info. Also I wasn't too thrilled that the RSVP portion was just a small tear-off postcard only for the reason that I'd be afraid that they'd get lost in the mail.
The RSVP really is what changed our minds on them, moreso than the inserts. I know we're going to have enough RSVP issues as is (just because everyone seems to), and I didn't want to add to that.

Are post cards really that much of a problem in the mail? I don't think we had any problems with our STDs getting to people.

Re: Seal 'n send invitations
My boss sent STD postcards last year and three of my coworkers (including myself) didn't get them. Not that it mattered so much; we knew the details since we worked with her daily. But I made a mental note to myself about them after she had that experience. So that's just my take on postcards in general. I didn't want the added issue of calling people who might've been timely in replying but the postal service just effed up, you know?

My friend did a send and seal and it was great. But she did an envelope for the rsvp because post cards tend to get lost/damaged in the mail.

Yeah I hear that. I read something about post card postage taking longer than regular first class postage too. I don't know if that's true or not so it's something else to take into consideration.Ugh I really like them!

Hm that's a good alternative too. I don't know if I'm going to end up doing a seal and send, but thanks for that suggestion!

Re: Seal 'n send invitations
I think this is a really nice idea. I just sent the link to my sister who´s getting married next year. You can also choose to do onlne RSVP if you have a lot of younger people. In my case I had to do it (b.c i live overseas) and so far there´s been no problems. I´ve had people who I thought would call the RSVP in put it in electronically (i assume they had someone do it for them). My sister is considering it for her wedding even though she lives in the sates. She´s waiting to see how it goes for me before making a final decision. But since our guest list is really similar people would be used to it by the time her wedding rolls around.

Yes a wedding web-site RSVP is a good addition. We definitely have a younger crowd and not many relatives. Now I just have to set up a web site. I think I started 3 different ones and never finished any of them

The send-n-seals I've seen online have been totally lack-lust--- but this one is soo nice! I say if you can get it done to your taste - go for it!!!

If I may suggest one, I would recommend weddingwire.com It is really easy to use, has the rsvp option and also a million other options you could use. (like flight searches, etc) Plus the seating chart is AMAZING!! You can even make it to scale if you want and input the dimensions of the room and tables. You can choose what shape tables and you just click and drag the names on the right hand side and put them on a table. And if you do your seating chart before the rsvps come in (like I did due to time) as people rsvp no they automatically get erased from the tables. Then after all the rsvps come in you can just rearrange. I love it!! You can add music and stuff too. You can check mine out if you want. I didn´t really put much time into it. You can do it much nicer if you want. Oh and the best part its completely free!!
