Seams on chiffon dresses too dark?

Had anyone had any problems with the seams of a chiffon overlay being darker than the rest of the dress? I came across an Impression BM gown this weekend that I love, but on the sample, the seams of the chiffon are darker because of the folded over fabric behind it.

The woman suggested it might just be because it's a sample and those are usually made as cheaply as possible, but I wanted to see if anyone has come across this issue.
