I'm ordering my Flowergirls and Jr. BM dress from netbride. All dresses will have to be hemmed anywhere from 8-14 inches (according to the measuring charts) Would my cousins be able to just have the hem done at the dry cleaners or something?
Otherwise, does anyone know of any seamstress on Long Island that isn't too expensive?

I've had dresses altered at the cleaners and they've done a great job every time.

susans, please let me know what you think about netbride - I am in desperate search for dresses for my 2 jr. bridesmaids, and my wedding is in 3 months - do you reccomend them so far? Thanks!

I ordered my bridesmaids dresses there. I still haven't received them, (they're due in October, I placed the order in July) but I know a few girls that were very happy with their service.
Sarah in customer service is awesome and answers every e-mail I send. So helpful. Plus the dresses were so much cheaper than the lowest price I got in a salon.
As far as junior bridesmaids, I searched high and low for a dress that would be age appropriate for a 9 year old and I FINALLY found 'Silhouettes Flower Girls' a bit more grown up than your typical fluffy FG dresses but not 'too' grown up: http://www.bridaloriginals.com I got a quote of $135 for the dress I picked from a local salon and $87 from netbride...plust I have a discount coupon which entitles you to 10% so it would be $78. Can't beat that.
My wedding is in 5 months so I have just enough time to order my Jr. BM and FG dresses through them. You might be a bit tight with three months...but I'm sure they can rush an order for $$

I grew up in west hempstead! the cleaners - turnpike drive-in, I think it's called, on Hemp. typk across from the WHFD does a great job with alterations and I don't think they're too expensive!
