Seamstress

I found my dress online a lot cheaper than at the salon. (Netbride.com) but before I seriously think about buying it online, I want to be sure there's a seamstress to make alterations. Does anyone know of a good seamstress in the South Western Nassau area (Long Beach and surrounding area)? Thanks

My dress is $200 less than the store. I got a quote form Netbride.com

Helen-

Its not the area you're looking for, but it may help someone...

My MIL is an excellent seamstress. She altered all the dresses for our wedding and made the flower girl and ring bearer outfits.

She works in East Northport (Larkfield Rd - Towne Cleaners) and also takes work out of her house in Commack. She's an adorable little lady, straight off the boat from Italy (she's lived in the US most of her life, but you wouldn't know it).

Anyway, I highly recommend her (and not just because she's my MIL)

Now thats a big help. My FMIL live in Comack / East Northport area, so I know its a way out, but not too far. I think I would be interested, if the prices aren't too high. Everyone here as so much good things to say about netbride.com. The ironic thing is this - my mom is the best seamstress I know, she has even made wedding dresses, but she's in Ireland, and we don't want to cut things too close once she gets here.

glad I could help. Your wedding is at a good time for her - she takes the summers off and goes to Italy.

I don't know about her prices, since I get the family freebie discount

, but they should be reasonable. It'll greatly depend on how much work needs to be done.
