My alterations are so expensive!!! I want to bring my dress to a private seamstress but I do not know now they determine how much it would be! Also if I bring it to a seamstress can I bring it back to my bridal place for them to iron and steam it until my wedding. I have no room for it and want to pick it up the day before!
Anyone know what I can do? I'm so stressed over this!!!

A) where are you located? B) the place you take it for alterations should be able to steam it for you...ask first before you decide to use them

I have a good seamstress in Astoria. She did my dress...she is fantatsic. She steamed it out and everything for me. FM me if you want more info

Hey I have a great seamstress for you !! I see your wedding is at the meadow club so hopefully you live nearby. Pat is located in Shirley - she did my friends wedding dress in Nov. ($175 to take it in sveral sizes, hem it and bustle it) I have my final fitting tonite and I gave her # to another girl here on the boards who is using her. FM if you want her #.

If you use a private seamstress how is worked? Do you drop off the dress and let me do the work and wait for them to call you for the fitting? I am worried that if I drop my dress off at some private seamstess I will never see it again! I am so skeptical when it comes to these things! Anyone know how it works??
