Searching for a dress - frustrated

Searching for a dress - frustrated

Before I go to a dress shoppe I have been looking at the designers dresses on their website but then I get there and they dont have the dresses that I liked online. I have found dresses that I like but I dont want to commit to anything until I try on some of the ones I see online. Has this happened to anyone else?

Did you bring pictures in of the ones you wanted to see & ask the people at the bridal shops to find you something similar? Or you could call a couple of different places to see if they have those specific dresses, so you don't have to waste time making apts when they don't have the dresses.

I feel in love with a dress that I saw online and I felt that I wouldn't be able to commit to a dress till I tried that one on...I called a bunch of places to see if they had the dress...I finally found it a store in the city. I didn't end up getting that dress but I felt more comfortable just being able to try it on and knowing for sure that it wasn't the dress for me. I know that some stores even if they don't have the dress you are looking for but they carry the designers line will request that a sample be sent to the store so you can try it on..

Yes me too! I have called a bunch of salons and made a list of the ones that carry the certain dress/dresses...

I have been open to trying on other dresses and have pictures of a few I have been looking for but they dont have them at the places I have been to. I am going to call around to a few places. Thanks

I had the same stress! I found a dress I loved and it was literally nowhere! I actually had to order it from the designer, but I would suggest calling ahead and asking if they have the particular dress you are looking for so you can see the dresses you like.

My advice would be to not get too caught up on what you think you'll be in love with. Try on lots of things. Set a few guide lines for yourself but be willing to try on some other styles. Certain places are better than others and know what they are doing as far as really listening to what you like and pulling dresses that will be right for you. I wanted a slim A-Line of trumpet sweetheart with sparkle and lace on the bottom, wanted the back to have buttons down the back, etc... Long story short I ended up with nothing like I described and its a billion times better then all the others I tried on.

Also had the problem trying to find a dress I saw online and one of the stores said to me that if Im having trouble finding it it could be bc its not a nice dress once its on but may just look nice on the website, this was true!
