I just wanted to say that I will never again balk at where I am seated at a wedding because I now fully understand what a pain in the @ss it really is to put a seating chart together!!!!!

I was just thinking this after the eraser on my pencil ripped through my seating chart. I think I will be volunteering me and the FH as the 'floater' couple to all future-marrying friends.

Yeah I know I am stuck with a whole bunch of single seats. Now I am stuck do I cram the table with 12 ppl or just add another table and start all over again.

another thing I love about having a cocktail reception--NO seating chart!!! I did do a seating chart for my e-party, and found that if you think a little outside of the box, you can work it out.

We started doing seating and so far we have 8 full tables and 8 tables of like 3 couples....LOL
We're going to have to merge and separate people - not looking forward to that

I was going through the seating w/ FH and he's like 'NO, that's not gonna work ' and 'That's a disaster waiting to happen'. So I handed him the chart and walked away. I'm done! It's his job now!!!

Can I suggest something so all those poor pencils don't lose their eraser buddy.
For my sister's wedding we took poster size paper (oaktag..sp), mini post it notes and wrote on the post its the last name of the family and the number of guests that go with that family. For example Smith 5, Jones 1, Jeter ( ) 2 each on an individual post it. On the oaktag we put the table #s and then put the sticky at the appropriate table. If we had to switch stuff around no re-writing or erasing just had to move the sticky.

Thats a good idea!! Ohmigod I am so not looking forward to that either. I had a sweet 16 and a graduation party and I wanted to kill myself because of the dumb seating chart. Its sooooo annoying!
