Seating arrangements - who goes in the 'back table'

aka the 'worst table'? People you are not that close to?

we put the people we knew the least at the back tables (ie parents co-workers we never even met, and extended families of step-parents)
the idea was to have closest friends and family nearest to us and then least close far far away (next to the band!)

exactly! I agree, however my mother doesn't and stuck my college friends , co workers and even a BM next to the DJ!!!! this is turning into WW3!

I'd probably put work people back there or friends of our parents that we are not close to.

I am going to have like two tables for kids at my wedding, so they are going in the back or by the DJ!!!

you could put those who go to the bathroom alot too if its close to a door! (LOL!)

I remember our exact seating arangement cause I went through total HELL trying to figure it out! LOL

Closest on my side was like this...

my immediate family
coworkers
mom and dads friends
misc friends
then neighborhood friends

His side...

bridal party and dates
his immediate family
friends from pa
friends from neighborhood
(further in back) sisters friends from work
his coworkers and people he met over the years working

Everyone seemed happy where they were and the room wasnt that big where anyone got lost in the shuffle either. We just made sure we put young people near the speakers!

I agree that the further back you go -the less close youare with the people

You could always put the heavy drinkers who may need to be close to the bar....

I'm going to sit everyone all over although I want my closest friends near me. I think I'll put FH's friends by the DJ. Or the bar. Oh won't they just love THAT.
