I would say on the whole so far we're looking good. The family tables, FH's tables- VERY easy.
But there's ONE table that's REALLY frustrating me!!!! Our max at our tables is 12.
I have a bunch of friends not bringing dates, which really makes things tough. My work friends make an even 12 at their table- thank goodness.
My friends from all different places- due to these 3 people without guests....is coming to 13.
I REALLY don't want to split them into tables of 6 and 7. I keep dreaming I could squeeze 13 but I doubt it. Diane's (BunnyBride) tiny enough- maybe she counts for half a person?
Should I split up my work friends to make room for these extras? Or is that completely wrong?
Or should I randomly pick a couple to go to one of FH's friends tables?
Any advice is appreciated! TIA!

I know this is not what you want to hear but I would split and make tables of 6 and 7.

I dunno....would it really be that bad to separate the work friends? The way this could work is, some are of the 'younger' generation, some are of the 'older'? Maybe split them that way and add my random friends to those tables?
Maybe if I talk to my work friends in advance they'd understand the dilemma?
This way there would be one table of 11 and one of 12....I mean, wouldn't my friends care to save me money here by not adding a table and having to get another CP?
SHOOT I just realized I'll STILL be off by one person even if I do it this way! I still haven't heard from one couple so who knows- they might not be at the wedding. That's why people have to get their response cards in NOW!!!

Can you also make two tables of 12 --10 instead so you have 8 and 9 and the tables arent as empty?

I would squeeze them. Honestly, if they all know each other, they won't care. THey will be drinking and dancing... and won't even notice. Its only 1 extra person.
I squeezed at my friends table... the BM said that is the only table she would squeeze 13 ppl at a table...

mmm..well, If I keep eating the way I've been I will be a whole person by the time your your wedding happens
I say split us or wait to see what happens with that other couple. You still have some time so try not to stress

SOunds bad-but you can fit 13 at the tables. We had a few people that were undecided as far as the reception was concerened-so we didnt have a seat for them set up but knew it was a possibility they would come....they fit.

Thanks Peg and Renee for suggesting the 'squeeze.'
Do you think CLM would be reluctant to seat 13 if I hand them the seating chart? Or should I just kind of 'surprise' them with it on the day of?
TIA!

I would also say go with the squeeze. Think about the weddings you've been to- so much room at the tables, a 13th wouldn't be a problem.
It sounds like you're not sure about the 13, though, you're still waiting for response cards? or was that only if you tried to reshuffle?
I'd say wait to give it in to the hall. in situations like these, it may be better to ask forgiveness than ask permission.

Honestly, I think I'd pick a couple and put them at another table. They'll always have each other to talk to and most people are ususally not at their table all night long, they'll be dancing and stuff. Think about the big picture, this is something small that you wont even care about on your day, so don't stress yourself about it now!!

I would split the work friends. They see each other all day at work, it's not a big deal if they don't ALL sit together.

Re: Seating chart dilemma!!!
I would squeeze them if necessary.....I wouldn't want to be at some random table where I don't know anyone else and a table of 6 & 7 is so empty. I messed up when doing our seating chart...i used an older version of the list to write them out......no one cared luckily 95% of our friends all know each other.
