i've been stressing out now for about 2 years (yes, long engagement) bc i know that by using them as place cards, im going to be up late the night before my wedding.
I've recently considered using a seating chart board instead - which would save me alot of time and stress. This way, the frames would be favors only - leaving them on the guest plates instead. I fell in love with this example (but cannot justify spending $150+ on it) - and im considering making my own instead Seating Chart
Has anyone used or seen a seating chart board before? how did it work for you? what do you think would work best?

Re: seating chart vs. favor as table seating
I have seen both at weddings and here are my personal thoughts
Seating Board-My cousin did this and it was actually expensive. Maybe it was just the one she did. Also everyone crowds around it. Its big but not very big so you have to go up to it a bit and it seems like there was a line just to see what table your sitting at.
Why would you need to stay up late the night before your wedding to do the Framed Escort Cards?
I have also never seen individual escort cards. I have always seen couples/families together.

I considered a seating chart and my friends used a place were you borrow the frame stand etc. I thought they looked so pretty but couldn't be bothered having to worry about returning anything. I just wanted something disposable.
My friend actually went to AC Moore and got the printable sheet ones and template. It was like $5 for a set of 50. Cheap, looked perfect, disposable.

We are going to be doing the frame seating chart. It seems like it would be alot easier. The frame I can always buy and then use it for our wedding picture. The template you can find online and download for free. We are also having 130 people so maybe for a bigger wedding it can get hectic.

Re: seating chart vs. favor as table seating
Thank you so much for your input everyone! Maybe the frames as place cards are the way to go?! Thats definitely a good point that there may be a crowd viewing the board at the same time. We're expecting 100-125 - perhaps i'll check in with our hall to see what they suggest too.
maybe im wrong, but i know as an event planner that the guestlist and seating can be such a stress inducer. i assumed that the night before my wedding id be making last minute adjustments due to cancellations etc. its also going to be annoying to get everyone's guest name (i would like each person to have their own frame) and stuffing 100+ of them.
