So lately i've been thinking about doing a seating chart because all the weddings i've been to they've used the tipical place cards which is perfectly fine...but since i've never been to a wedding with the chart ...i've been thinking of doing the seating chart...what do you girls think?? and what are you guys doing ?? pros and cons of both....TIA ladies

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
was going to do a seating chart but then thought what am I going to do with it after. It is more expensive then the cards (which my aunt would do the calligraphy for free) so that was what I based my decision on

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
i am going to be doing seating cards rather than a chart. I have alot of older guests and the chart would confuse them...

I thought about doing a seating chart but I think we are gonna go with place cards. Just personal preference.

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
i dont like the idea of a seathing chart because everyone is hovered around it as soon as they walk in and there is usually a line for people to look at the chart to see where they are seated. sorry... i dont mean to offend anyone.. obviously this is my personal opinion.

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
We are having place cards because we too are having a lot of older guests and I think the chart would be a little confusing to them.

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
I think place cards are just much easier...and less expensive too. Besides, I have no idea what I'd do with a seating chart after the wedding!

this is exactly why i canned that idea.....plus my own father has trouble reading anything under 24 font, so I can only imagine everyone up there for their glasses on trying to figure it out.

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
my sister is doing a seating chart she is 'renting' and having a woman write out for her... IMO i think it is a waste of $ (no offense to anyone else!).. i am just going to use placecards.

I was going to do the chart but then I found place cards that match exactly with my invites and programs.

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
although the seating chart looks really nice, i am unsure of what you do with it after. plus like other said, you have a big group of people standing waiting to look at this chart. & if you are like my FH & I you have so much to drink during the cocktail hour we forgot what table number it said. plus my friend had a beautiful one made up & then had to add last minute guests & they were out of order.

Re: seating chart vs. place cards
I was just at a wedidng where they used a seating chart. I had never seen them done before- I liked the idea- but I think that it might confuse some people. Although it would same time, and writing them out...The one that I saw just had a computer print out.
