Seating nightmare!!
Our engagement party is March 23 and we have a total of 118 guests plus 6 kids. My parents are divorced, and I have people on my side that just can't sit near each other. I have tables of 7 but then I have tables of 14. I'm going NUTS.I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we have double the amount for the wedding! Has anyone else experienced this yet!? If so, what did you do to make it easier?
Also, if a table can fit 10 people, is it weird to have 7 people at a table but then a huge table of 14? Helpppp!

Seating nightmare!!
Just tossing it out there, could you let people seat themselves?

Seating nightmare!!
No wayyyy--there are too many people that don't get along. I see way too many complications. I spoke with both of my parents about it and they felt we should have arranged seating.

Seating nightmare!!
FH has divorced parents and we have to separate people also. At our engagement party we had 2 tables that had 14 people 2 with 12 and a couple with 6 and 8. We didn't find it strange. Everyone seemed comfortable. I feel like people would rather be at a small table with people who they are comfortable with then a larger table mixed with people they may not know.

We let everyone sit themselves. People that don't get along just didn't sit near one another. I don't think different table amounts is a big deal. We had a bunch of tables so we had anywhere from 4-12 at a table. HTH!

Seating nightmare!!
At our e-party, everyone sat themselves. It was more casual. So I'm not too much help there. But, when it comes to people not liking each other, (including and ESPECIALLY parents), can't they just suck it up and behave themselves for 4 hours or however long your party is?
FH has a friend who is best man absolutely despises. The friend doesn't even want to show up to our wedding bc he thinks the best man will physically attack him if he's there. I sat down with the best man and said this is MY wedding, and I will not hesitate for one second to call the police and have him escorted out of my wedding if he causes a scene. Apparently I'm a bit threatening, bc he agreed to behave himself and just stay away from the friend. Clearly we're not going to sit them next to each other, but I'm not going to lose sleep over making sure there's enough room between them. They're adults, they need to start acting like it.
Sorry for that rant, but I hope it helped?

FH says the same thing all the time. I wish everyone could grow thw eff up and have a good time. The worst part is, my parents get along GREAT! It's other people in the family that don't get along. It would be way easier if my parents were the issue. There are issues between people on both sides. My grandma hates my dad for what happened between him and my mom (18 years later, my mom is over it). Uncles don't get along with cousins, my moms friend hates my aunt...it's PATHETIC!
Thanks for your input, ladies.
