Secondly, the seating is tables of 8 which I guess is pretty common. Should I be trying to fill up tables to 8 or is it ok to have a table of 6 here and there?
I guess they don't charge by table but by people so it shouldn't matter??
Sorry if this is a silly question

Re: Seating Question
You definitly dont have to use up all of the seats at the table. They'll just ask you how many tables you need and thats it. Like you said, they charge per person not per table.

Re: Seating Question
Well you should try to fill up tables of 8 as much as you can, b/c if you have more tables you need more CPs! Also more table numbers....if you don't care about those things than it shouldn't matter too much. Is there a cap on the number of tables that can fit in the room comfortably?

Re: Seating Question
My Banquet manager mentioned that having a lot of different number tables might add servers so might be more of a tip at the end....I would clarify with your RH.

That is a good point. I didn't think of the CP and number thing. I am having a small wedding, so I guess one more table wouldn't hurt

Re: Seating Question
why not try making tables of 8 and then you might be able to lose a table altogether and thats 1 less centerpiece to pay for

I definitely have tried and tried to get it to work out to even numbers of 8 but with the numbers I don't think it is possible to do and keep people together. I have managed almost have with 8 and a bunch with 7 and one 5
