Second Guess Wedding Dress.....AGAIN!!!!!!!

Original post by Sage10.03

I AM THE WORST......................
Ok, my first dress I fell in love with was at Vera Wang and my mom put down close to 2k right there on the spot....
Some months later we were driving by Pricilla of Boston and saw a pretty dress in the window...
I was like 'let's go in and just take a look at the pretty dresses'....WELL....I fell in love again and my Mom even liked this one better so we left...I thought about and we ended up going back and putting another 2K on this dress....
(Completely lost the deposit at Vera Wang)

NOW I AM SECOND GUESSING AGAIN..........

AM I THE ONLY ONE??????????????? At this point, I have no choice and I HAVE to wear the PofB Dress or my Mom will KILL me....

Re: Second Guess Wedding Dress.....AGAIN!!!!!!!

Yes...I actually called and told them the wedding was cancelled and made up a sob story and they gave me store credit instead of just loosing the $$ altogether....
My MOH got her dress there and we used the credit towards her dress and I plan to get my shoes there to re-coup some $$...
Other than that my mom said to just use the credit to get a cocktail dress for the honeymoon....
I wasn't going to give them another 2 1/2K for the dress and hope I was able to sell it....I'm not that brave....

may i ask what the original dress looked like?

Re: Second Guess Wedding Dress.....AGAIN!!!!!!!

Sure....
Silk Organza, Ivory, Strapless, with a corset-like lace up the back. It had a panel of antique color dutchess satin in the back underneath the lace for contrast...Hard to explain!!!!
It was beautiful too....

Oh well....no more thinking about other dresses!!!

I keep second guessing my tiara. To think I'm sick to my stomach about spending a fraction of the cost of your dress!

Fortunately my heart is set on my gown. If I were to change my mind, my mom would say 'Next one is on you!' (no pun intended)

Sage, rest assured we all did it. I tell you what worked for me, stop looking. You will always see one you like more and make your dress look ugly. That is the only advice I can give you.

Re: Second Guess Wedding Dress.....AGAIN!!!!!!!

Sage,
I have agonized over this myself!! I love my dress, but every once in a while I get a wave of panic and think it is not the dress for me. I even went undercover at the Reem Acra boutique to try it on again and then the reason I chose it came rushing back to me, the saleslady even said it looked like it was a couture gown custom made for me!! (ANd she didn't know I already ordered it from somewhere else!) My point is, you chose your dress for a reason, just trust your gut. P&A made a great point, there are so many beautiful dresses out there, it SUCKS that we only get to wear one, no matter what dress you chose you're going to see others that you think are fabulous also! So, the lesson of the day is STOP LOOKING!!!!

PS I never went to Kleinfeld, sometimes I am so tempted to just go there and see what they have, but I know that would be disasterous.

I agree! STOP LOOKING! After I booked the hall I kept second guessing myself because I would sit ont his site and scope out everything. After I booked the hall I went and looked at 8 others Still love the one I picked but I was so scared!

Just STOP LOOKING!!!! Take a pic of you in your gown and keep it around when you feel the urge!!!!

Re: Second Guess Wedding Dress.....AGAIN!!!!!!!

No leads. I am so worried about not loving it once I purchase that I haven't decided on anything. In all fairness, I haven't found one that I love but I have seen a few that I like but don't knwo if I should get a just I only like not love. I guess I just have to make a decision. It is very frustrating.
