Second guessing choices - anyone else sometimes feel this way....
I book vendors based on great recommendation, & when I met with them, I loved style & their 'claim/mission statement' on business & professionalism (which is VERY important to me, when I am recieving a service from someone).
But have you ever talked to them, after booking, and they almost 'blow-off' your concerns or question you ask them???
They are important to me and I want my questions answered, so why should they make me feel like I was 'just a sale'.
Anyone else get this????

i don't feel blown off by my vendors....but i do doubt some of my choices when i hear about other vendors and hear that they are amazing.....
i think second guessing is normal! i hope so at least!

Yes! This week it's the band! I know I loved them when I saw them but I always second guess things!

So far the only vendor I am second guessing is my photographer...but I think it's only because the last time I was there was months ago and because NO ONE on these boards are using them.
But, I know that that doesn't mean anything because there are literally thousands of photographers in LI.

I'm right there with you...I've second guessed everything...especially when people post rave reviews about vendors (some of which I cannot afford). But...you must have picked them for a reason, so...just try to relax and I'm sure you will have a beautiful day.

(definetly there are so many talented others out there, than 'used here'.) I did not feel my choices were bad, until I wanted to ask a question, and they make it seem like sure, we can discuss that when we get closer to the wedding, even when I kept saying I'd rather get it cleared now, etc. That just settled uneasy with me.

personally, i have found that people are uneasy witht he fact that some people want to do things in advance. i think it's more normal for people to do them right before the wedding, so that's what most vendors are comfortable with becuse that's what they're used to!
i might call them and express my uneasiness with the fact that they are not willing to help me out! maybe that will help

If it makes you feel any better, I've been second guessing our wedding date, reception location AND the fact that we chose to have a mass! That's all that we've done so far and I'm second guessing ALL of it!!! Sick.....
I called our reception hall a few days ago to schedule our tasting and the ONLY woman we've been dealing with had no clue who I was! Nice right?

Yes, Yes, Yes! Especially my DJ. What if he's not good? We've had terrible luck with DJ's at the last 2 engagment parties we went to. My FSIL just had hers at the East Wind and she's 41 years old and the DJ played 'Be our Guest' from Beauty and the Beast. She almost threw her plate at him. He was playing the worst music and didnt' even know the name of the new Santana song. HELLO...that is your job, right?
Anyway, I'm babbling, but yes, I am constantly worried!

I wouldnt worry.
Sometimes vendors have to deal with brides that are getting married in days and those brides could be driving them nuts. I am sure they dont mean to 'blow you off' but i am sure they are busy and have to prepare for things that are happing now.
If you call on a Friday at 1pm the vendor could be walking out the door to go to a brides house for 2:00 and they really dont have the 5 minutes to sit. Its not that they are giving you a brush off, but their is a bride waiting for them and they dont want to be late. 5 minutes can make a big difference when driving someplace.
If you call on a Saturday at 6pm your vendors may be at a wedding and the only person their could be someone just answering phones and has no idea how to even help you.
I wouldnt worry about your vendors.

stepherG,,,you have me laughing. That reminded me of a wedding I was just at, when the band breaked, they kept putting on Greese songs. OH-NO!!! (I do have a great dJ!!)
I actually talked to them during the day, during the week. I never call weekends, always too crazy for them!
I guess I'll see what happends. I still think no matter, what 100% is all the time. At leat until 9/6/04 (day after the wedding or when services has been fullfilled)
I DO have to say some of my vendors are Really GREAT!!!!! Both on here, and privately. i like good people, who act true and they make me feel HAPPY & confident in choices for 'good people'!!!
