Second Guessing HM

Second Guessing HM

Ok, so i put a small deposit down on the sandals st lucia, the full cost of the trip is a small fortune. Which wouldnt be so bad since its our one and only honeymoon, except, that about 5 or 6 people have told me that there is absolutely NO night life. Now, i know this isnt the focal point of our trip, but FH and i do like to go out at night or have some kind of entertainment in the evening. I cant see spending 9 nights somewhere without going out once in a while! help .. what should i do?

Can you get your deposit back?

I haven't heard much about the island itself but I've heard that the resort itself is entertaining. Have you read anything about that in brochures? Also, I would doubt that there is absolutely NO nightlife there. See if you can find some reviews from past brides that mention what they did at night or fm them and just ask.

We switched our honeymoon after about a year. I don't think we lost anything though. We did it to save some money.

Hi....our HM is also at sandals st. lucia and I've heard that they do have night entertainment. Read the reviews or ask other brides that went there. I think I've read a couple of comments on here that say about night parties and stuff like that. There are alot of brides here that went to St. Lucia.
Good luck!

talk to your TA, you might be able to transfer the deposit on another place. We also have excluded alot of places bc of that fact. Some are STUNNING amazing places but i also need entertainment at night and also like to do things in the daytime too since we dont like to lay out on the beach, we have no patience lol. And i need more than water activities

We are going to St. Lucia and have not heard anything bad about it.

night life we are not worried about cause we plan on spending the day outside and the night inside

You should be able to talk to your travel agent about it and they should be able to do a switch for you. I don't see why it would be a problem. But if you aren't comfortable read up on some reviews of people who have gone, I have heard wonderful things about it there.

the resorts might have a club inside them...just like many caribbean islands most will have a bar or lounge in the hotel. And some nights they'll do themed parties like toga party or something like that.

My cousin went there on his honeymoon and they are big drinkers and partiers. they LOVED IT!!!!!! They had night life and met a bunch of other honeymooners. They had a blast.

i went to st lucia for vacaiton one year. we took a sunset cruise and met a lot of people from sandals. they were having a blast. their hotel was bustling every night and there were tons of newlyweds going out together each night. these people definetely were not lacking a nightlife.

I was orginially booked to go to St. Lucia and stay at Sandals. But we had to change our wedding date so we changed our honeymoon date as well. I am in the process of talking to my TA and he said I can just transfer my deposit over to wherever we choose now.

And I am NOT choosing St. Lucia. Although I was excited at first and it is such a beautiful lush island I too need nightlife and definitely fh needs it. So we are deciding on Mexico possibly Riveria Maya staying at The Royal (www.realresorts.com) It is everything, romantic, beach, nightlife with town right around the corner with bars, shopping etc.

I believe st. lucia doesnt have a huge nightlife but i think there are some things. prob on your resort but we need more than just watching a band or seeing a dance show you know

since its a small deposit, and i am assuming that like most, they are none refundable, are you willing to swallow the lost and book something else ?

Or better yet, you can start making phone calls now, and see Exactly where is the nite life happening, and try to arrange something.

But . . it's your honeymoon !! All the nite life should be happening in your hotel room, or on the beach if your 'FREAKAAY'

If nightlife is important to the two of you, I would switch, especially if you can get the deposit back. This and activities was an important thing for FH and I and we were close to booking Sandals, but decided on a cruise and a destination so we can relax but also have things to do at night.

it depends on what you want i think...ive been to islands that yes had a club in the hotel. My whole stay there i went once, stayed for a few mins and left. In the bahamas we left the resorts and went to a local bar and had a great time. But on weekdays its less packed and weekends are better. They'll have a nightlife but a different type of nightlife you might be looking for so find out info i guess.

i heard they have a bar/nightclub but its usually empty. I guess its just that we always go to mexico and are used to having a town nearby that has bars/restaurants/clubs and in st lucia , you only have whats at the resort. I am going to look into it further- thanks for all your suggestions!!
