Second Guessing My Dress

Original post by FutureMrs.T

I keep second guessing my wedding dress. I LOVE MY MAGGIE....but when people see pictures of it...they make comments about how it is 'different' and its not 'white'. I keep thinking that I should go back to the big poofy traditional wedding dress. Please re-assure me that my dress is perfect for me....i feel like it was made for me. . . . should I get a new dress or stick with this one:

I love your dress!!

There is a reason you chose this dress- I would stick with your gut. If you are really having doubts, go try it on again

I LOVE YOUR DRESS!!!

My dress is something I would not have picked in a MILLION YEARS!! The manager asked me to try it on...I fell in love with it once it was on, but even after we purchased it, started to have doubts...

Tried in on again a month later to show sister...and no one really commented, just oh its nice!! not the jaw dropping looks that you imagine,,,

Tried it on a third time, just by chance was back there looking for veils...tried in on with a veil...looked at it on me an remembered why I fell in love with it.. and just then a little girl walked in, looked at me and said to her mom 'mommy look!!! It's a princess' and I started to cry.. when my sister and mom saw it that time, I dont know what it was maybe the veil, but they both gave me the natural reactions I needed to see..I now, love it!!!

Even if there are no comments on it WE all go through second guessing our choices , its natural!!! Its human nature, we are girls!!! I honestly love your dress !!

I love it and it looks phenomenal on you. That shape is perfect for you. I dont think its that 'different.' I dont think there is only one dress for every bride, there are a bunch of dresses most brides look great in.

I know that the cat is out of the bag...but I would try not telling or showing people about your dress. The only people who have seen my dress are my mom, dad, and MOH/sister. I've had my aunt and grandmother repeatedly ask me what it looks like or to try it on. I said no, initially because I wanted to surprise people. I've remained silent because I don't want anyone to make me think differently of a dress I love.

I think there is just so much pressure put on the day so we feel the need to second guess everything we do! That dress is BEAUTIFUL!

Its beautiful. & even more important, YOU will look beautiful in it. As long as you feel special in it then it is the one. Once it is fitted you will ignore what anyone else says. You will be a beautiful bride to remember.

Tell them haters to get stuff it from me

IMO, screw those people!

Your dress was actually my second choice dress - it's stunning!

I ended up going 'untraditional,' too (and also with a Maggie). My advice - wear the dress YOU love! I sure did!
