second guessing my dress ;-(

second guessing my dress ;-(

i ordered my dress about a month or so ago. it was the only ball gown i tried on and i fell in love with it. at the time, i felt like i needed to order my dress soon, since i was reaching the 8 month mark (8 months away from the wedding) and was told i needed to order like 6-8 months prior... i went to visit it again and i didn't like it as much the second time. i attributed it to gaining a few lbs in between the 1st and 2nd time and also, the straps inside the dress weren't fastened. (like an inner corset that makes your waist smaller.)

i tried to put it out of my mind. i ordered it and i would work the hell out of it! ... however, recently, i went to village bridal in babylon (not where i ordred my dress) b/c they were having sample sales. i went with my mom to look at dresses for her. while i was there, i spotted a stephen yearick dress on the rack that was gorgeous. loved it. was like omg, i think i like this better than my dress! for all i know, though, it would look like crap on me. my mom loved it, too. she was like wooowwww! i was like 'mom, don't make me feel bad. my dress is ordered already.' so she was like yes, of course, your dress is beautiful; you will look like a princess... so again, i tried to put it out of mind since my dress is ordered already and like i said, i didnt try on that stephen yearick dress... it could look like crap on me...

so that was a few weeks ago. today i went to look at MOB dresses and bridesmaid dresses at yet another store. the owner of the store (this was louise, at gowns by louise) asked me if had my dress. i said yes. she asked which designer. i said justin alexander. she said oh i wuold put you in stephen yearick b/c you are so tall and could carry it... ermmmm, hello?!?! so she made me feel all bad. i'm wondering if i shouldve tried on more ball gowns.... should i go back to village bridal and try on taht yearick dress? waht if i love it? i dont know what to do!! my mom is paying for my wedding gown and she would lose her money at paradise bridals, no? (where we ordered...) ugh, i feel so depresed about this!

I think if you're this upset and concerned about it, you should try on the dress. You dont wanna spend your entire wedding day in a gown you're not sure of!

If you love the other dress and order it, yes you will lose whatever money you have put down at the other store... but in the long run I think its more important to LOVE your dress.

I may be in disagreement but I say do NOT try on the other dress. While I parouse magazines and other dresses I dont give too much mind to them. You need to think of what made you love your dress in the first place. Put it together with a headpiece, jewlery, makeup, hair - you'll see you will love it as much as you did the first time! Trust me ... you will look beautiful!

I think it's really common to second guess your dress choice. It's such a big decision and something that you've probably been dreaming about for years.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about what some sales woman told you. They're paid to sell dresses, not to make you feel like you made the right choice with the dress you already have,

thanks, everybody. after sleeping on it, i feel much better today. i think i was just overly tired and stressed yesterday, and what the saleswoman said really pushed me over the edge. there are a million dresses out there and i can't pay them all mind ... i'll make myself crazy! you are right, once i have my headpiece, veil, jewelry, hair and makeup, it will look amazing.... everything will fall into place. .... thanks for all the kind words and advice!!
