second guessing myself
So I finally have an appointment to be measured for my dress - the one I picked out 2 months ago.But out of nowhere I decided - what if it's not really the one? So I just made an appointment to go to Lillettes tonight to 'look' at bridal gowns.....am I crazy....is this normal??

Re: second guessing myself
I so did this!!It actually started when another bride on the boards...second guessed her choice and bought another dress...I started to tdo the smae thing...and the wedding was about 3 months away...
then I went to try it on and my mother said she really liked it and didn't think I would want a dress that looks like that, b/c it had beading on it...
I started to freak out...my mother likes very lacy and beady things and I am the complete opposite...was it too beady?
Its a tough decision...I ended up keeping the dress...and was happy enough with it...but if I had come into a winfall, I probably would have gotten another dress..

Re: second guessing myself
I always worry if I picked the right dress. I think its a normal worry. I just want to make sure I look my best that day.

Re: second guessing myself
You are totally normal. i bought a dress the first day I went shopping then later in the week started freaking out that I didn't like it anymore. I called my shop and told them to CANCEL the order. They were great about it. I went back in and found something I know I really love. Listen to your heart.

Re: second guessing myself
I would say that yes it is normal, but that yes, you are also crazy. You've got neurotic bride syndrome. *SMILES* If you have a specific complaint about the dress ie, you bought one with a feather boa but just realized your MIL is a bird-rights activist, then definately go look. However, if its just I think its pretty, but what if there is a prettier one out there... then exercise self restraint and relax. Just like in choosing your FH, at some point you just have to trust your judgement and decision making ability and stop second guessing yourself! You will be gorgeous!

Re: second guessing myself
hey there ... don't worry
I go through the same thing about EVERYTHING!!! In the end, I'm making good decisions though, so trust yourself. Just a note about Lillette's ... I bought my dress there & Christina was my consultant. She's such a doll, and the shop is terrific!! We love it there, my fitting is 11/9 & I can't wait to get started
Good luck!

Re: second guessing myself
I had to go to Lillette's for a hallow to hem fitting so that they can order my dress. The first thng I asked Geri was 'did any other prettier dresses come in?' I told her I just wanted to be sure. Once put on the dress I was all smiles! You just know!!
Good Luck!

Re: second guessing myself
You are definitely a normal bride-to-be!!I just went through the same thing on Sunday. I had tried on dresses like two months ago and there was a particular dress that I kept thinking about and I swore it was the one. Well, I go back to try on that dresss, and there in the center of the store, is THE dress for me. My mother thought I was crazy!! I put on this other dress and I knew it was the one. It was just a very surreal feeling - I was dancing around the store in this dress with my barefeet, people thought I was crazy!!
Good Luck - and listen to your heart!!

Re: second guessing myself
HelpI went to the bridal store and found 3 (yes three) other dresses I love.
One is halter,
one is strapless
one is a tank top, similar to the original one I thought was THE ONE
I so don't have time for this

Re: second guessing myself
Definatley bring someone with you. I brought my BIGGEST critics. (I have 3 of them) they all said that the dress I picked was the one. I liked a few at Lillette's but, when I put THE dress on it just showed in my face & the way I walked.
Good Luck!

Re: second guessing myself
I knew my dress was the ONE when I saw it and it brought the biggest smile to my face and my mom's face who never says anything is nice unless she really means it!!
