Second job?

Second job?

Just wondering if anyone was considering getting a second job to help pay for the wedding. FH starts school in August and thought it would keep me busy. Anyone know of a place that would just let me work Mon Wed & Fri? Can't work weekends and I know a lot of places don't like that. Was actually considering working at like a Michaels or something but I'm sure my weekend thing would be an issue.

I think I am next summer since I'll be done with my masters (Im working on it this summer). I would try retail stores cause they seem to be more flexible or maybe even local family owned shopes. I wouldnt want to work weekends either but I think they would be flexible. I did Bath and Body works and they worked with me. Good luck finding something!

There's a michaels right down the street from me. Maybe i'll check it out next month. i'm sure they lose a lot of employees at the end of summer with everyone going back to school. Just think putting $100 away every week for the wedding is the smartest thing for me to do but it's just not happening right now (paying off home renovation). Think you're right, they are probably the most flexible with hours. Thanks!

no problem Plus you probably can get great discounts at Michaels which is a plus when it comes to wedding stuff!

i'm not getting a second job only because i work full time and i'll be taking 3 classes starting next month for my master's (i barely have time to breathe). But I've heard on here that some girls make money during halloween season at party stores. It may be a good option to look into because halloween just kick starts all of the holiday seasons!

good luck!

You see write ups in different papers for 'Work From Home'. Leary of those ads. Wish I could come up with a million dollar idea.

This is true. It would be nice to have a cool job during the holidays. Christmas is my favorite time of year. FH nearly dropped dead when he saw my boxes upon boxes of Christmas decorations. I'm banned from buying anything else

i have three jobs! lol i work as a teachers assistant during the day. then i coach gymnastics during the fall and spring seasons and when there is no gymnastics i work at a tutor time day care center...always busy!

im not sure about all tutor times, but mine is very flexible with my hours and days. i tell them when i am available and then they tell me when the need me. if you are ok working with children then i would check out them, or other day care centers. pay isnt that high but its something extra.

I already work two full time jobs and its HELL!!

Maybe you can get a job babysitting or tutoring? From what I hear babysitting pay is MUCH MUCH higher than when we were high schoolers and used to babysit.

I am thinking about doing it when I am done with my MBA in the fall. I was thinking maybe Borders bookstore. No where I would be tempted to buy a lot. I can only buy so many books.

That's a good idea. WIth my like I'll end up buying more than I make at the place.

So true I am a babysitter for my schools agency and we definitely get paid because a lot of high profile clients/alumni use us.

i have been tossing up this idea for months, i cant decide what to do. i dont want to start somewhere and quit in 2 weeks because i cant handle it ya know? and i dont want it to cut too much into mine and FH's time together. working from home would be perfect but i cant find a job that does that

Re: Second job?

At home work would be so ideal. I've heard of websites that pay you to type papers. Guess if you did a search you could find it. Figure FH will be at school half of the week and rather than sit home and mope I'd like to get out and make some money. Not a big fan of sitting home alone during the week.
