I went for my first dress fitting last night and left in tears. My dress seems so dull and plain, and I feel like it's not flattering. Am I insane? Does this happen to everyone? Should I look for another dress? Here are the front and back pictures of my dress.
ETA: I had my second fitting in mid-March and feel much better. My sister & my best friend came with me and were raving, and I did feel better. Thanks for all of your support!
sorry to hear that. do you have a pic of your dress? i have a feeling i am going to feel like that when my dress comes in

Re: second thoughts
why did you buy the dress to begin with? it must have made you feel special when you wore it. maybe when you have the whole package going on (the veil, the hair, themakeup the jewerly) you'll feel different!! personally, i prefer simple elegance

I agree with Azad. You had to have a reason for choosing it to begin with. Maybe once you're all accessorized you won't feel like this. Hang in there.

Re: second thoughts
I'm sure it's not dull - sometimes the most simple dresses are the most beautiful. Don't compare to others, I'm sure you will look great.

Don't be so upset! The first fitting isn't what your dress is going to look like on you! Right now, it's too big and too long and all wrinkled! For your next fitting, bring your headpiece with you. That will give you a better idea of what it will really look like on your day.

awwww.....Daniella, I'm sure the dress is going to be so beautiful on you! Don't think this way. You have to get the whole picture, ya know.

I added pics. I spoke to two friends who were married this summer and both of them at one point had a 'I hate my dress' meltdown.

I posted on your other post but I LOVE your dress. Its so different, classy and elegent. I agree with the girls that the first fitting, it still needs alterations and if that fabric is all wrinkled it completely ruins the whole look. Once its fitted to you and is pressed, you are going to look beautiful.
I went through the 'meltdown' especially after looking at everyone's dresses. But now I love my dress.
It will be ok- I remember a 04 bride on here feeling the same way and looking spectular on the big day. I think its just jitters

I think that dress is beautiful! It looks like one that a girl on one of those TLC shows had made for her wedding. I remember when she came out in it FH made a comment about how he loved the way the back looked.

Re: second thoughts (now w/pic)
I honestly do think that dress if very classy. It depends on your type of style and what you've always pictured yourself in. I understand where you are comign from becaues when I first tried on my dress, I didn't get 'that' feeling that everyone always talks about. The truth is? Everything won't come together and look like 'you' until either the final fitting or the day of the wedding. There is such a high expectation out in the world that there is that one perfect dress out there that every bride clamours for and I think, sometimes, we get sucked into it You aren't alone and I am sorry that your first fitting went so hard. You are a bride. You are a going to be a beautiful bride. And your FH will be in awe of you, regardless of whether you are wearing rags or the beautiful gown you picked. Thats what its all about, that single moment with him.

I think your dress is beautiful!! I love the back of it. It is not dull & plain at all. The back is very dramatic. I bet once it's fitted to you it will be more flattering.

Your dress is definitely not plain and dull. I love it! The back is so unique.
Next time try to go with your hair done, and full makeup and your jewelry - you'll probably feel a lot different in it.

The dress is beautiful. As one of the previous posters said, it was on 'For Better or For Worse' on TLC today- it looked beautiful on the bride. It's not dull at all with the detailing on the back and once you have everything put together is will beautiful!

Wow, I think the dress is beautiful! It's normal to have second thoughts...don't worry, the dress looks great...You could wear lots of bling and not worry about looking too complicated or busy! Good luck!
