Second Wedding Dress

Is this tacky?
My moh/sister has wanted me to do this since we set the date.

I decided the other day I would like one.
Reason being I want to feel a little sexier for the reception.
But my FMIL and FSIL/BM hate the idea!!
Even FH has an eyebrow up about it!!!

I keep trying to tell them that it is not a regular party dress. It is a WEDDING DRESS!!

not tacky at all, a lot of girls are doing this, its just a way to change into something more fun and comfy for the receptionm if its in your budget go for it

I don't think its tacky at all, I agree as long as it fits into your budget then go for it.

I paid so little for my wedding dress
plus my moh/sister is wanting to buy the second dress for me.

i wanted to wear the second dress for our grand entrance but fmil made a stink about how i should wear the other dress for our first dance. now fh is starting to think the same thing too.

i think that usually girls wear the first dress for the first dance and change out of it after, its totally up to you though, i would wear the first dress for the first dance and then change out of it, jmo you can do it whenever!

i don't think its tacky at all, i think its a fun sexy way to spice up the reception.....actually funny story, when i bought my dress, fh asked 'so when do you buy your 2nd dress' i asked him what he was talking about and he responded 'all the girls on platinum weddings always change into a second dress, so aren't you?' i cracked up...he just assumed all girls have two dresses!

Agreed. I won't be doing it though for the reason that my dress was a little pricey - so therefore for the amount of money I am paying for it - I want to wear it the whole night. Although - I do love the idea of a second wedding dress!

that is what i plan on doing.
i want the second dress. so to keep fh happy i will change after our first dance.
in the end, its all about compromise. right?

I would do it to if it were in budget.

But I probably wouldn't change into it until maybe half way through the reception.

First, I think you should totally wear the second dress if it's what you want, not tacky at all!!

Secondly, let's just say if you did keep the first dress on for the first dance then you coming in after in the second dress could give you 2 fun entrances, yay!! lol Just something to think about, either way though I think the second dress will be great!

i personally don't like the idea of getting a second dress. i love my dress so much i want to be in it as long as possible.

I am having a second dress because although i love my dress, it is much to elaberate for me to dance and feel comfortable in all night. I'm changing into something just as fabulous but much easier to move around in.

dont let them tell you what you should do. Not for nothing FH is the only one who should have some say in this since it is both your special day!

for me, however, i wouldn't get a second dress bc you only get one day to wear your wedding gown and i will want to keep it on as long as possible...i may even sleep in it...jk

Do what ever is going to make you happy. It's definitely not unusual because a lot of brides are having more than one dress these days. If you have the extra money and really want it, then you should go for it!
