I wanted to ask everyone before I went any further....
I suggested to Mich that I would be more than happy to organize the secret bride part of the shower - meaning finding out where all the attendees are registered and then suppying each attendee with a bride to buy something for.
I remember how the 08 brides took care of this and I would be happy to run it the same way. As Mich receives the responses I will keep track of the registeries and secret brides.
Is everyone ok with that before I continue?
Also, I think we need to start discussing who would like to do what... I know the shower is a long ways away but we need to talk about a few things like:
1. How to get LIW invovled 2. Favors 3. Deocrations 4. Games 5. Etc
How do you think we should go about figuring out who would like to do what?

There are a few of us that have ideas for games...
The one I am most excited about is LIW Bride 09 trivia... like a matching column of info about us!
For example:
This bride's married name is going to sound like she is stuttering!
I also wanted to maybe send an email with a questionnaire that the FH could fill out to play a different trivia game

That's great. I really think maybe we should start a different thread for each portion of the shower....what do you think? This way we can all be invovled in all areas. Plus, we can piggy back off each other
I was thinking about this and I think it would much easier to have a grab bag. Each person buys a household gift from $20-25 and we can pick a gift from the pile. It will be more of a surprise gift.

I like the grab bag idea but I also think the registry idea is more personal. I am willing to take it on so if everyone agrees I think that would be a fun way to go

The only thing about a grab bag is that you might get something you don't need... with the secret bride it comes off of your registry so you know you want it!

But most people would either be registered by August, or they could get them a GC if they weren't registered yet

Since the shower is in August I think we can wait till the end of June for everyone to register. If we have a months notice I am sure we can all find something!
I can't wait! I am such a dork but stuff like this makes me happy. I love party planning.
I am going to wait until some of us get home from work to make sure everyone is ok with me taking care of the secret bride portion
I like the grab bag idea but I also think the registry idea is more personal. I am willing to take it on so if everyone agrees I think that would be a fun way to go
I think it should be fun and more impersonal. Like a shower and bachlorette party in one. We are going to have to deal with the personal suff later. We should even bring one really small gift $2-4 for a game prize, lip gloss, oven mitts, anything would be funny.

I think we already pretty much all agreed and were excited to do the secret bride Im sorry of some people dont agree but it will be fun either way. I think we already have some girls working on ideas and stuff so I wouldnt want to keep changing things around. BUT I do LOVE your idea of the cheap gift we could use for wishing well/grab bag idea... Im totally down for that but i want to make sure everyone wants to agree bc there are some people that dont want to spend extra $$ bc of bidget issues.
