secret thoughts about my BM dresses

I went with Tiffany Blue and ivory for my BM dresses.
I tried to pick something that perfectly matched my wedding colors, was affordable, and came in different/coordinating styles because I didn't want all the dresses to match exactly. We went with Alfred Angelo.

Well they came in and I HATE them. It's too late to change them so I'll live with it but everytime I look at them (they're stored in my walk-in closet), I wish i could start all over. The dresses I really wanted were $300 but i didn't want to do that to the bp -- add in shoes, alterations, and hair and I felt it was just too much.
So I'm stuck.
I'll try to post pics but if they don't show, look in my album called bridemaid doj. The pics show the dresses in cornflower blue. Picture the dress with the same ivory top but with tiffany blue skirts, ribbon and piping.

They are very pretty and when your girls have their hair and makeup done and all the flowers are there everything will come together dont stress it!

maybe it's me -- I had serious doubts about my dress, the invitations, everything. It's like I don't trust my own judgement anymore!

I think the real problem is that I wish I hadn't chosen ivory for the top. And the florist pretty much told me that I'm limted on my choice of flowers for them because of the color combo. I mean ultimately I can do whatever I want but it won't necessarily look good.
But I think you're all probably right -- hair and make-up really makes a difference,

lol i think that's all of us... and don't worry about what ppl think.. they'll always have something to say, good or bad... it is all about you! in the end, who cares what anyone else says .. enjoy your wedding with your new hubby.. lol it's funny i forget about the FHs when i'm on this board.. i know it's all about weddings and stuff, and you cant have it without a partner, but it's all about *us* here

You're right!
It's so easy to forget that it's not about the color of the flowers or the invitations. I have to stop stressing about nonsense. Maybe I should be more like FH -- he couldn't care less about what people think.
When I told him that I was afraid we'd get a lot of no's, he said 'Even if only the two of us show up, it'll still be beautiful'

Aw, I think they're pretty and they look very nice on your girls. And, I don't think your so restricted with flowers either. They're going to look so nice when they are all made up. Try to stop second-guessing yourself...everything will be beautiful! Aw, and your FH is sweet.

where did u get your bm dresses? because the same exact thing happened to me my dresses just came in and my wedding is aug 8 i gave them such a problem that they actually changed the color for me and the order was placed . and they will be in last week of july! so dont be discouraged u are the customer they will work with u. trust me i was on the sam boat . i was sick over it but i have to say they were kind of understanding lol considering i was a total pshycho lmao

I like the dresses as well.
If you really hate them, is there any sort of a flower pin that could go on them.
Maybe you could put bold necklaces on them?

I actually got them at the Commack Wedding Center ( a place a lot of brides hate) because they were almost HALF what another salon quoted. I don't think the commack people will go for that.

I think they are very pretty. If you aren't feeling them anymore, I'd think about doing a bright pink flower with maybe some yellow to play on the brightness of the Tiffany Blue. I think that it will be fun to see a differnt color flower with the blue.

Do you think a bright pink flower will look good? The florist suggested a pale pink rose or cream colored roses with green hydrengea. I thought about adding yellow but the florist ( who is very artistic) said that yellow is probably not the best color ( I kind of liked the yellow).FH isn't feeling the pink but I think it might be better than the creamy colored flowers.

This could drive a woman mad! lol

i would totally try it what do have to lose just tell them thats not what the swatch looked like and you are completely unhappy and you work in advertising and you know a lot of people!! hey it worked for me

i loved the first dress i picked for my Bm for some reasons I had to change them and now i hate the dresses we have. Its not that i hate them but i loved loved loved the other ones and this is not as nice to me. I can't do anything about it and me girls think i like them but i secretly whish they were the originals.

I picked these dresses because I wanted that pool color and because I wanted to be considerate. The dress I really wanted would have easily been $500 with alterations and shoes and i just didn't want to do that to them -- not for a dress they'd only wear once. I've been on the other side and I was forced to buy this lilac dress that was way too expensive along with the most painful pair of Nina shoes. Now that the dresses arrived and I see them in the correct color, I just feel like UGH. If i had the money i would just buy them something else and have it rush ordered.

I need to let it go. I seriously don't think the commack people will work with me so this is it.

Someone today had posted a bouquet with really pretty cream colored flowers. I can't remember who it was. I don't think I would go with yellow. I can't think of anything off-hand, but maybe something in a violet shade (mixed with cream/ivory) to offset the light blue. I can picture these flowers but I can't think of what they're called. When you get a chance, go on the Knot. They changed the set-up of pictures a little. When I went on yesterday, they had a breakdown of all different flowers so you could kind of see pictures by flower and color. I think I would stay with pastels, but just mix in deeper shades so they stand out against the light blue.

Oh, and I like the sound of the cream flowers with green hydranges. Try and find pictures...maybe that will help you get a better idea!
