Secrets or Royal Hideaway

Girls please help me!!

I can not decide between Secrets Excellence or Royal Hideaway! Royal Hideaway is beautiful, a 5 star and the food is supposed to be AMAZING!! But Secrets seems 'prettier' and more my style when I look at the pictures online! Plus we get a complimentary Honeymoon package and I love the idea of hammocks and beach chairs in the pool! I just do not know which to choose.......


Can you please also tell me why you chose one over the other??

Well you seem to have the same dilemma DH and I did...really, just me. I knew RH to be super luxe but I loved the idea of hammocks and a canopied bed. We went with RH because ultimately we wanted to be pampered and not have to worry about staff paying attention to us. The staff to guest ratio is insane at RH, plus they only have 200 rooms - less than half of Secrets. The beach at RH is also a pure beach (the same beach as Tulum if you have seen pictures) while the one at Secrets is on a coral reef and is rocky. This is a tough decision...and I don't think you could go wrong with either, but ultimately, we wanted to reeeeeeeeeeelax - we have no regrets.

ETA: I just read your 'beach chairs on the pool' comment - Royal Hideaway has cabana chairs poolside all around the saltwater infinity pool...as well as regular beach chairs along every other pool (and there are lots).
