Hi I could really use help, I have been to several venues and since I cannot do a castle, I at least would like to enter the reception in a different way, I know chateau briand and sandcastle offer these unique/surprise entrance options, however our family and friends from both sides have already been to these venues. Does anyone know of any other venues with unique or 'supriset' entrance options? if so you can just give me the name of the hall, but you dont have to tell me exactly how if you dont want to. Thanks

Re: Secret/Unique Reception Entrance
In Queens (Howard Beach) Russo's on the Bay has a room where you come from behind the wall (down some steps)
I think they also have a room where you come up from the floor (not 100% sure though)

Elite Palace in Queens has a moving balcony entrance. But I went to a wedding there in March and hated the food and service there.

Thanks Ladies, I'll look into your suggestions. I think I heard elite is brand new, that's a shame if there starting out with poor service...

Russo's on the bay does have the come out from behind the wall and down stairs and also come up through the floor but to be honest its kind of tacky and not elegant...just an opinion

I have to agree to an extent...it's just been done so many times that it comes across as tacky. Our DJ has a really unique way of announcing the bride and groom - for extra $$$$ of course- but we are going to go ahead and do that b/c it still is a little different than the regular run of the mill. So when you talk to DJ's ask if there is anything they can do to make it different and unique.

Captain Bill's (looks nothing like the name suggests PROMISE) is really pretty on the water, and I don't know about entrances, but me and my husband left on a boat, it is on a dock, really pretty where all the ferries to fire island leave.

Marina Del Rey in Throggs Neck has that elevator come out of the floor entrance thing. I saw it at a showcase.

I think you are thinking of the Villa Barone. They have the elevator that come up in the middle of the dance floor.
the Marina Del Rey is on the water. They also have a boat that you can use as your reception. I live in the area and have been to both mmaaaaannny times. That was why we decided to get married on LI. We found a great venu that neither one of us had been to...nor most of our guests.

I am getting married at Elite and absolutely love it, the food, service and all. I have been to 3 weddings there and have had no complaints each time.
