How many of you are seeing each other before the ceremony to get the pictures outta the way?? I don't know how I feel about this. I know they set up a place and do an intimate meeting and all...but to me there is still something about walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time. Am I crazy?? FH doesn't care either way...

everyone is trying to get me to do it and i wont!! there is definitely something about seeing each other for the first time as you walk down the isle. thats like the best part of the whole day!

Not crazy at all. I refused to take pics before, I just had this vision of FH and I seeing each other for the first time when those church doors open and I just wouldn't compromise. I may be old fashioned, but that moment seems all the more special after you haven't seen each other first.

I just brought it up in conversation and FH said no way. He wants to see me for the first time that day, walking down the aisle.

MY FI is totally against it. He wants to see me when the doors open To be honest, I would rather it be that way too......

no way. That was never part of my dream wedding. Walking down the aisle is when we will see each other.

I've been torn on this one too... but we've finally decided to see each other before the ceremony.
our reasons: 1) we can have a special moment to ourselves 2) we won't miss our cocktail hour (and our steel drum band!) 3) i feel that FH might hold back his emotions when i'm walking down the aisle because he'll know that everyone is watching him, and he might be embarrassed. 4) we'd rather greet everyone at the cocktail hour and have more time to enjoy the reception! 5) we don't believe that it's 'bad luck' or that it will ruin anything. the first time he sees me will still be special!

were going to see eachother so we can enjoy every part of the wedding...I cant see missing the CH. It also depends on if your getting married onsite. Were jumping from the wedding directly into the CH.

We are planning on attending our CH because our photos will be done. However, it's not like you would be able to go up and have some of that penne vodka you chose for your pasta station! hehe. Everyone will be pulling you to say hello and this time will be mostly to greet more of your guests. Don't be too bummed about it, you will have plenty of time to enjoy your reception with all the photos out of the way!

I dont' know...I'm just very traditional and I agree about the whole coming down the aisle and having everyone see you for the first time...I MIGHT do pics before hand just b/c of the daylight issue but i really don't want to. We'll see what happens.

I definitely don't want to see him before. I want the entire church to see what his face looks like when he sees me for the first time as his bride.

We are seeing each other before, alone (with the photographer) in a botanical gardens. The pictures of his face when he see's me for the first time will be PRICELESS!

we are NOT seeing each other before....we are going to take all the pictures that we can before without the two of us together this way a chunk of them are out of the way but i do not want him seeing me until i am walking down the aisle

I used to be dead set against it until i read some posts from brides who saw each other first. It sounded so much more special that it changed my mind. Now I'm excited to take pics before.
we are seeing each other and taking pics before the ceremony - makes life easier, still have 'that moment' when we first see each other - but more private. get to enjoy our coctail hour and spend more time with our guests
