We did not and I would not change a thing. I think the build up to it is great. Then you see his face looking at you walking down the aisle. Priceless!!!!

Nope we are not seeing each other before. I have always wanted that Grand Enterance when everyone is 'WOW' by my enterance. THough I am bummed about missing CH but i guess sacrafices have to be made. Photographer said i may catch the end of it becuase i have such a small bridal party.

Good luck with your choice.. it is tough but as the LIW brides have told me time after time.... IT IS YOUR DAY AND YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT!!!

Love you ALL THANKS A MILLION!!!!!!!!!!

we are seeing each other beforehand, I think it is the best thing for us to do. We will get all of the pics out of the way and be able to attend the CH and greet guests, that way we can enjoy the reception!

We had to see each other before hand. We are Jewish and it is customary for a Jewish couple to sign the Ketubah (marriage contract) before the ceremony and DH had to lower the veil over me. I assure you it did not take away from how we both felt walking down the aisle and seing each other for the first time.

How many of you are seeing each other before the ceremony to get the pictures outta the way?? I don't know how I feel about this. I know they set up a place and do an intimate meeting and all...but to me there is still something about walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time. Am I crazy?? FH doesn't care either way...

If you do not have a break between the ceremony and the cocktail hour / reception, you may want to consider seeing eachother before the ceremony and getting your pictures done early.

We did everything in one location, and therefore did not have any time between the ceremony and the cocktail hour for picture taking. For that reason we decided to see eachother before the ceremony and take care of the pictures. It really allowed us to fully enjoy the festivities after the ceremony. It would have been hard to pose for pictures when all i wanted to do after the ceremony was celebrate and party.

One other option is to take care of as many separate pictures as you can before the ceremony, and then just leave the pictures that include the both of you for after the ceremony.

Ditto!! The best part about the ceremony is watching the grooms face when he sees the bride for the first time (IMO). I am doing my best to have enough time for pictures in between the ceremony and CH, without having to miss too much time at the CH.

I used to be dead set against it until i read some posts from brides who saw each other first. It sounded so much more special that it changed my mind. Now I'm excited to take pics before.

Thanks for posting that aimes1313!

We had decided to take pics before the ceremony and we were both totally ok with it. ... but I'm even more sure about my decision now!!!

I think that moment of seeing each other for the first time will be such an AWESOME feeling that I'd rather do the pics after.

i have time to decide. but I don't think i want to see him before. I want that feeling of suspense when he finally sees me (and I finally get to see him) when I'm walking down the aisle. It will make it that much more special

We are seeing each other. I know it is reported bad luck to see each other before hand but I look at it this way. THere are so many people that don't see each other before hand and they get divorce. So I don't believe in bad luck!

we're pretty torn about this as well. On the one hand, the idea of taking all the pictures during the cocktail hour instead of spending the time with all our loved ones (especially on a day that everyone is already saying will go by too fast) seems bad to me. On the other hand, I'm also a bit of a traditionalist, so I'm not sure.

It would be SO convient to see each other before but we are not! We want it to be like in the movies when I walk down the aisle and he sees me for the first time! SO romantic!! I am not even going to see him the whole day before because we will both be so busy getting things together!
