Seeing FH before ceremony

Original post by JmJBride

If you saw the groom before the ceremony, or plan to, how are you doing it? In private, in front of your bridal party, with your parents?

Our videotographer set up a place to capture us seeing each other for the first time. I went into the room first with BMs and then 'hid'
DH walked in and had his back to me and then I walked up to him and he turned around...it was all captured on video and photos...it was priceless!

Re: Seeing FH before ceremony

although we lived together before, he stayed at the apartment and i stayed at his parents house the night before. we got ready on our own, but we decided to take pics at the vanderbilt museum before the wedding, so that was when we first saw each other. our bp was there, my mom was there, the photographer adn videographer were also there and the moment was caught on tape. it was awesome! it helped with our nerves a lot. also, we signed the ketubah and license before the ceremony as well, so by the time the ceremony rolled around, we were already playing and joking aroudn with each other!

my avatar pic shows when i first saw him at the museum.

Our photographer wants us to see eachother for the first time in front of the bridal party before the ceremony. He wants me to get out of the limo while they have a camera on me and one on my FH to get our expressions as we see eachother for the first time. I dont know if we are going to do it though because i dont want him to see me before i walk down the isle. But i would like to enjoy my cocktail hour. We are getting married at the same place as the reception so there will only be an hour to take pics or i'll miss most of my ceremony too.. i dont know what to tell you. i'm confused myself.

I saw him before and I am sooooo glad we did it this way. this is how we did it! All of the girls and my family were at my house taking pics and the boys were at his taking pics. Then the boys took a limo over to my house while I stayed in the back of my house. Once everyone was inside and Ray was alone in the front yard with the photographers, I came out. Our families watched from the windows, but outside it was only us and the photographers. It was very emotional. i don't think I would have made it through the ceremony in that state!!! Then after a few mintues we waved everyone out and took some pics with our families together, then we went in the hummer limo with the bridal party to the Planting fields arboretum to take pictures. Once we got to the hall we parted about 1/2 hour before the ceremony. It was still magical walking down the aisle, but a lot less overwhelming. And we were able to go straight to the cocktail hour since we got our pictures done beforehand!
