This is something that I am thinking about. Our ceremony at the church starts at 6 and cocktail hour around 8. I think that's cutting it a little too close- I don't want to be bombarded with taking a million pictures in between because my goal is to PARTY and enjoy the reception. I brought up the idea to my Mom about seeing Pat beforehand to take tons of pictures- she wasn't for it. But, I told her a lot of people do this now so they can enjoy the wedding. Part of me wants to see his reaction when I walk down the aisle and part of me wants to get all the pics out of the way so I can have a blast.
What are you ladies doing????? Are you seeing him beforehand or seeing him when you get to the church?

I'm seeing him beforehand, I wasn't happy about it at first, but it needs to be done!
Our ceremony starts at 12pm and cocktail hour 1230 - we don't want to miss a minute of the cocktail hour, so we're getting to WM @ 10 to take pictures.

ur ch follows immediately after the ceremony. BUT i dont want to see him. I just for some reason feel strongly about walking down the aisle and seeing his expression for the first time. We talked to our photographer about timing and he doesnt take long doing posed pics and we have 2 photographers so i think that helps with posed pics. the rest are candids..

Im not BUT i have alot of time from church until CH. But i think if you have to doit you have to. You're spending way to much money NOT to enjoy the entie arty if thats what you want. Plus you could always get a pic of his reaction whn he sees you at the shoot!

our ceremony is at the RH and we plan on taking our photos beforehand (we don't want to miss a minute of the good stuff!) our photog/videographer will still set it up so that the reveal is suprising and romantic, and they'll make sure to catch the moment on camera and film. I think doing the photos beforehand will work better for us.

I'm getting married at my RH and my CH and reception start immediately following the ceremony.
We are taking pictures before the ceremony to make things easier. We will still have his first reaction on camera because we're going to set-up a revealing. I don't want to feel rushed and I want to be able to enjoy my cocktail hour and reception without being pulled away constantly for pics. Also I wanted to take my pics at the Planting Fields and it is definately too far from Leonard's to do pics there during our CH. Good luck with whatever you decide. Don't let your mother influence your decision too much. You have to figure out what will work best for the both of you.

im not seeing him before...our ceremony starts at freakin 10am so we will be sleeping and then getting ready...i am thinking about doing day after pics of just me and him...so our pic time can be just of our bp and families.

I am seeing FH before as well, i really didn't want to BUT I want to enjoy everything that I planned. FH didn't want to see me before but I will be spending the night at my parents house and I won't see him until we will meet for pictures! So it will be a magic moment BUT just not what I invisioned my 'magic moment' to be(me walking down the aisle)

I know a few people that have done pictures before and they were really able to enjoy the reception!

We are not seeing each other before hand and this was a point that we BOTH would not budge on. Some photographers we met with said 'oh you HAVE to see each other before hand' and our reaction was, ok NEXT photographer! We are very traditional and I want that moment of seeing him at the end of the aisle waiting for me! We are going to be missing our ENTIRE cocktail hour, but we are both OK with that. The staff will bring us some hors devours while we are taking pics and our pics are way more important to us than the CH. Plus we will have a whole day of celebrating with our guests so we are taking an hour for us just us to do pics! We can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

As of right now I'm not going to see FH before the wedding. Although I'm thinking it might be better for me to see him before b/c I dont want to be a hysterical mess walking down the aisle... thats the only reason I would do it.

I will not be seeing FH before the ceremony. I actually had issues with this when we first booked. Our ceremony was scheduled for 11 and the CH began at 12:30. We didn't want to see eachother beforehand but we didn't want to be rushed and miss our CH. Because of the time constraints we ended up changing our date and time. Is there anyway you make the ceremony time a little earlier?

We are seeing eachother before hand. Getting married at the RH and want to be able to enjoy the CH and not miss any of the reception. My mom wasnt happy about this but, its our wedding and we are paying for it. Plus we will still have the whole seeing eachother for the first time!!

We're not seeing each other...we're also not going to the cocktail hour...we both want to go the traditional route.
Our ceremony starts at 4pm and cocktail hours starts at 6pm. Since we aren't doing any pics other than at the church and RH we're good with our timing.

I am going to see if I can do this. I think the only time available is 2PM and I think that's WAY to early but we will see. I am going to call the church and find out because I actually do prefer seeing his reaction in the church.
