Decide on where you are going to take pics first and then figure out the timing and if you will see each other....don't wrack your brain just yet.....

I am seeing FH before as well, i really didn't want to BUT I want to enjoy everything that I planned. FH didn't want to see me before but I will be spending the night at my parents house and I won't see him until we will meet for pictures! So it will be a magic moment BUT just not what I invisioned my 'magic moment' to be(me walking down the aisle)

I feel the same way as you. I am taking my photos before the ceremony because I want to go to my cocktail hour.

But I think you can still have a special moment. I was planning on having my FH stand at the alter, and having my dad walk me towards him down the aisle.

It doesn't have to be just a casual 'oh here I am let's take photos'. You can make the first time he sees you in the dress a very special moment.

This is something that I am thinking about. Our ceremony at the church starts at 6 and cocktail hour around 8. I think that's cutting it a little too close- I don't want to be bombarded with taking a million pictures in between because my goal is to PARTY and enjoy the reception. I brought up the idea to my Mom about seeing Pat beforehand to take tons of pictures- she wasn't for it. But, I told her a lot of people do this now so they can enjoy the wedding. Part of me wants to see his reaction when I walk down the aisle and part of me wants to get all the pics out of the way so I can have a blast.

What are you ladies doing????? Are you seeing him beforehand or seeing him when you get to the church?

I think you will have time. How far is the RH from the church? I am doing all the 'family' photos before the church (our seperate families, we are not seeing each other before) - so this way after the church all we have to do is the combined bridal party and 'us' pictures. I already told the photographer that I do not want a million pics of me and Aunt Sue and me. FH and Aunt Sue, etc etc. I think as long as you set a time limit and tell them excatly what you want - it could work out!! Good luck!

edited to add: * the best advice I got throughout this process (and when I was debating seeing FH before) was 'don't sacrifice the feeling of that day that you want to always remember for a few pictures that you will only look at a few times.' IMO I would rather have 400 pics and do it the way I want then 600 pics.

Our ceremony is at the RH and we are allowed to come up to three hours before to take photos, so we are doing all the posed/family shots before the ceremony....I want to eat and drink at CH!

we were originally going to do that - but FH has since changed his mind and wants to keep that part of the wedding traditional I cant wait to see the look on his face - except now i think we need to get a 2nd camera man for a few hours to get all of the family shots done before the ceremony so we wont run into each other at the hall

I am not seeing him before. Everytime I think of my wedding I think of the church doors opening and seeing FH standing at the alter - I get the chills every time I think about it.

However, if I wasn't having a church wedding I would see FH before b/c I don't want to skimp on pictures
