Is anyone doing this I was wondering if i should or not? That way i don't miss the cocktail hour!!

We are going to see each other before for a few reasons: 1) we're getting married at our hall and don't want to miss our cocktail hour to take pictures 2) seeing him beforehand will definitely make me so much more relaxed

Not doing any pics together beforehand. I want the moment he sees me to be in the church when the doors open and wedding march begins. Will do lots of pics before to get things out of the way.

I personally don't want to see him until I walk down the aisle.. mostly because he SWEARS he will not be emotional, and I just want to prove him wrong! (I think he will be ;))
But i certainly do not think there is anything wrong with seeing him b/f the ceremony for pics, etc... If we didn't have a big gap between our church and reception to take pics, I'd probably do the same!!

Hi, I'm thinking about it as well since our ceremony & reception are at the same place. We also added 1/2 hour to the CH (my favorite part of the party!). One photographer gave us a good idea: if we don't want to miss that first time my FH sees me coming down the aisle, the photg. can set it up that way, even if it is before the ceremony, it's just that no one else will be there! That way it is still special & I'm hoping I won't get as emotional when the real time comes.

We are getting married at our reception site but we will not be doing pictures before the CH. I guess we are old-fashioned but we do not want to see each other before the ceremony.

We are...it wasn't my idea, but the banquet manager suggested it when we told him we wanted to have the ceremony in the garden. I'm glad now we are doing it. We want to enjoy our entire wedding, including the cocktail hour. We will make it a special, private moment when he first sees me...perhaps he will wait in the garden as I make my 'grand entrance'

We are not seeing each other. I wanted to so we would have less time in between the ceremony and reception but my FI was totally against it. He won!

We're doing it because we have the same feeling - we don't want to miss the Cocktail Hour or anything else. We're actually taking pics at the Vanderbilt Museum first and then heading over to Thatched where I'm having the cermeony and the reception. We're going to take some pics at Thatched before the ceremony as well since we can be there an hour before hand and then the rest of the night is ours!

We are not going to see one another. I just love the thought of seeing one another for the first time walking down the aisle. And we have alot of time after the church for pics.

We are not doing it. We have some time after the ceremony 430-7pm and thats when we will get all of our pictures in. We will not be taking pictures during our cocktail hour I already made sure of it with the photographer. He said we will have plenty of time before it.

No...both FH and I want to see each other for the first time when I walk down the isle. We are having the ceremony at the hall...so we will miss the CH due to pictures.
same here....we are old fashioned and superstitious.....we want to see each other at the alter! The photographer said yes it puts a crunch on time, but it's what we want.

Nope.. he knows.. the first time he will EVER see me in my dress and fully primped is as I walk down the aisle with my father.
We've put so much effort into that because to us that is OUR moment. That first moment of 'Oh my god, Im yours and your mind forever'.
We are taking pics just outside since we're getting married at the reception site. I have special dietary needs that mean I can not fill myself anyhow, so why tempt me with food? Jim can eat until he bursts so the M'D is setting aside a small plate of what we will already tell him we want, so we have something to nibble on.
We are also getting a take home platter in case we don't eat enough that day. Our wedding ends early (latest 6pm) so we have options, I guess.

I kinda wish it were possible to not see each other before the wedding, but it just won't work. We want to enjoy our Cocktail hour, so we're going to take pictures in the morning beforehand.
Oh well, we can't have it all!

My photographer assures us that we will NOT be missing our cocktail hour, therefore, I will not be seeing FH until I walk down the aisle.

Yes...my FH and I are seeing each other first thing...we want all of our formal pics out of the way and all of the immediate family will be there before the ceremony as well...our banquet mgr suggested we mingle for 1/2 hr during the cocktail hour this way we can eat and enjoy our reception also.

Ditto!!!!!!!! (same hall as well!!!!!!) Want to be able to talk and hang out with guests!!!!!!!
