Seeing soon to be Husband before the wedding for Pictures??
Is anyone doing this I was wondering if i should or not? That way i don't miss the cocktail hour!!

I am planning to do it. I figure since FH hasn't seen my dress and has no idea how I'm going to be looking that day, it will still be a surprise moment when we see each other. My CH starts right after the ceremony, and I really want to be part of as much of my wedding reception and CH as possible!

We did it and we were glad to have the extra picture time! (We were married at our reception hall so we wouldn't have a lot of time for pics). It was still exciting to see each other the first time and it didn't take anything away from the ceremony! It was one of our better decisions

I'm not. The first time I'll see him is...when I'm walking down the aisle in church and after the church we'll take pictures. I have pently between church (3:00) and reception (7:00)

We had to do it...we got married right at the Milleridge Cottage and wouldn't have had any time for pics if we didn't.
It was still very exciting to see him for the first time...I still cried...and like Christine said...it took nothing away from the beauty of the ceremony.

I find that it's usually the couples who get married at their reception halls that choose to do the pics before the ceremony to save on time.
If I was having a church wedding and had time between the church and the reception, I would not have done my pics beforehand.
It's a personal decision and one that you must feel comfortable in making!!!

We're doing pics before the ceremony, that is how the photographer wants it... I never dreamed about it to be that way... but cocktail hour is right after ceremony...

We are doing the pictures before hand, but we are having the ceremony and reception at the same place, I don't want to miss the cocktail hour! Thats the best part!!

We're seeing each other before the ceremony (CH begins after ceremony is over). If was iffy about it at first, but now it makes a lot of sense. The obvious reason is to have more time for photos and still be able to enjoy the CH. But what sold it for me was that it was going to be an emotional relief for me to see him before the ceremony and get a chance to be alone with him will ease my nerves. I'm very emotional so I'm hoping to get most of my crying done with before the ceremony. Knowing me though, I'll probably be a big crybaby all day! lol!

At first I didn't want to do it but if we're getting married at the reception hall then it will save on time so I'm considering it.

I am planning on doing it. My CH is right after the ceremony and I want to enjoy that so this way the photographer said that most of the pics can be done before the cermony.

We are taking pictures before. Since the ceremony and reception are all in one place and I don't want to miss the cocktail hour, that's the only way to work it.

No...both FH and I want to see each other for the first time when I walk down the isle. We are having the ceremony at the hall...so we will miss the CH due to pictures.

Could we do most of the pics beforehand - the individual pics, the family and the BP pics, and then just do the B&G picss after the ceremony? I think that's the way we're gonna do it.

That is what we did and it worked out PERFECTLY.
This way we did not have to see each other beforehand. I was a traditionalist when it came to this part.
