ok melissa, i searched for a bunch but i mostly got nyc ones, i did find one who does beautiful work and her prices are good, and she does travel...its $200 but its $100 for the trial and $100 for day of. It does say $1000 for 5 people in the beginning but thats for weddings outside of NY or NJ and she did say NY and not NYC so im guessing thats long island too so it would be $200 for you including the trial

Don't stress I feel the same way but I am sure that you'll find someone that you can live with for that day.

I'm not usually a person that procrastinates but I think with all the things we all have to do we're all going to turn out to be very beautiful brides.

most of the people i contacted were booked too.
I still haven't booked hair or makeup or even had a trial done.

i would definitely check out makeup counters in your favorite department store. most of those ladies will freelance, and a lot of them do free trials right in the store.

that I procrastinated so long to book my hair and makeup. I wrote to a bunch of vendors yesterday...got emails back quickly saying many of them are booked already for my date. Which must have been the reason why in my dream last night I was about to walk down the aisle in my dress and I realized that had on no makup whatsoever and my hair wasn't done.

FMIL just gave me a # for a MUA named Tori. She said her co-worker used her and has referred like 1 ppl to her who also used her. Let me know if you want her info.

ALso ask everlovingev, i remember pics from her trial and her make up looked GORGEOUS, just gotta find out if who she used travels to LI, but thats just one possibility. Oooo it just came to me, at lumara theres a girl who does make up, she did my make up for a wedding i went to and she did a great job and was so nice, although she works in a salon i wonder if you can request for her to come to your house, many of them would do that and do this alot...Alright date twin ill try to see who i can find, i mean on LIW youll see about 15-20 names all the time, theres ALOT more make up and hair artists than that lol.

It seems that those are the only 15-20 people who do hair and makeup on LI but yea I know there are more out there but it's so nice to just check out someone who I've seen trials from before and I'm not going in blindly ya know.

I found girls at Priscilla of Boston that do hair and makeup for their own company. They are called CocoBelle. They recently did the Newsday Wedding Makeover for the cast of Tony and Tina's wedding. They are located in Carle Place but will travel to you for a trial. Let me know if you want their information Melissa!

Oh yeah i completely understand, thats the hard part not seeing their work ahead of time and then even having to pay for trials with all these ppl just to find out. Good luck and just keep your hopes up you'll be a stunning bride no matter what. Let us know if you still haven't found someone soon so we can give you more options
