I got my invite proof in the mail today and I am in LOVEEEE. I was bouncing around the house excited when I opened the envelope :)
Has anyone used (or will be using) self assembly for invites to save money on her quote? I was thinking the self assembly option may cover the postage it will cost to mail these things but I am worried it may be too much work or I may put them on crooked. Thoughts?

Re: Self Assembly for Invites
I am doing some assembly on my own. I'll be putting the pocket inserts in, and the monogram tabs on myself.

Did you specifically ask for that option? She gave me all assembly including gluing invites and monogram or just insert assembly.

I don't have a pocketfold....so I am just going to let her do it. Its like an extra $15-$30...the hours it would take me to assemble and the knowledge that I won't have to stress about it are worth more money than that (to me).

Yup, I asked what I could do in terms of assembly myself without me actually gluing the invites together.

I'll be doing everything, the glueing and placing the inserts in. I'm just having her put the ribbon on the pocketfold since I didn't want to take a chance with that.
FH is really artsy and anal when it comes to that stuff so i know he'll do it well. 2 of my BM's are really creative and careful when it comes to that stuff too.
I'm planning to do it like an assembly line so hopefully it'll be ok.

I did my own invites so I had to glue them and it was simple. I used a glue stick and the extras I have are still stuck in there good and its been almost a year since we glued them.

According to her proof approval form ' We suggest using photo mounting tabs as adhesive. You place on tab on each corner of hte paper needing to be glued and then secure the paper to it's layer. Do this for each loose layer. Photo mounting tabs are available from us upon request. We do not recommend using any kind of liquid glue.'

I think I'm going to do it... that money saved will pay for the postage. I'll have a bridesmaids/mothers assembly line or something.

I have someone I am thinking of using but to cut down on the cost I may ask if she can do most of the leg work (like printing, matting the invites and whatnot) and I will do the rest of the assembling.

Ditto... I think mine in total came to like $26.00...

Re: Self Assembly for Invites
I sure did! My invites were expensive enough WITH me doing the assembly of them!
i actually enjoyed this part! It was one of my favorites!! I also opted to glue each lil crytal on it and also do the glitter glue myself! That was tedious... but I like to be hands on also.
i def recomend at least doing the self assembly part!!
