self esteem...

does anyone else sometimes regress into the person you were in Jr. High or High School and feel like your just not that 'cool'? or that your not succesful enough or that your stuff isnt nice enough or just in general begin to feel like you dont fit in??

this happens to me often and i am wondering if its normal or am i hormonal. cause today i will feel so lost and than tomorrow never more certain of everything....

YES!

There are three women who work on my floor, they look like clones of each other (same JS black hair, same overdone make up, same tight suits) and I call them 'mean girls'. For some reason, when I see the mean girls whispering, I feel the same way that I did when I was 13.

definitely. especailly when shopping in certain places or eating at certain restaurants. more often in ny than anywhere else.

fortunatley i work with men so for the most part i feel very confident because they include me in all of their cattyness!

Oh I feel it sometimes!

A few weeks ago I was at a party for one of the kid’s in my son’s kindergarten class. It seemed like every mom there was a size 6 with shiny, aalon perfect hair and manicured nails. I caught bits of conversations about going to the gym and meeting for lunch. I felt like one of their housekeepers standing there in my Levi’s and oversized sweatshirt.

It’s times like that when I need to kind of steel up and remember that I have my own worth that can’t be measured by anyone else’ yardstick. I am truly and completely happy with the person I am and the person I am becoming.

I definitely feel this way. It used to happen a lot then it subsided. However, I find it creeping up more often lately.

I have none. Well, at least lately. I just suuck. Silly. I know I am silly. I need to grow up. I just don't like myself all that much. I am working on it. I am taking pilates and yoga and dance classes. It's getting better but some days are worse than others.

one day at a time! Here's to living in the present!

Re: self esteem...

this is a hard question for me to answer...

in certain respects, I have great self esteem. I never feel stupid, boring, or uninteresting, no matter who I happen to be around.

I DO have problems being surrounded by other women. NOT b/c I feel any less attractive, and certainly not b/c I feel inferior, but I just feel like I don't have anything in common, and that in general, I think differently. I have VERY few female friends...

I have days where I feel badly about the way I look, but I think everyone does, but at the same time, if I am surrounded by beautiful people, I never feel LESS beautiful, but usually more so than usual.

there is only one instance when this is untrue...and that is when a particular other person in my life is around...and then I just feel...ugly.
