Self made centerpieces!

Is anyone out there making, or have made their own center pieces???
If you did, are you glad you did?
If you are what are your ideas?
AND is it worth it???

We are thinking of doin our own, and have started to get some things for them, we are a very crafty couple so think it wont be bad, but we were wondering about other peoples experiences.....

TIA

I was wondering about doing this too... But was also wondering if it was worth the trouble...

Would love to see the responses...

We decided to nix the florist for the most part because he wanted 120 per centerpiece no matter how simple our idead and he doesn't listen well. While we are oderign gerber daises from him, we are making our CP ourselves. A and B are what we are attempting-something similar. Wheatgrass is supposed to be super easy to grow so we are going to do soem test trials soon to see how it look and if it lasts. if it doesnt work out, I'll sulk hehe and then do C as our backup-gerber daisy plant just potted into a galvanized container-would alternate buckets with watering cans and then use flower petals around it and candles and it should look fine. We are also going to use gerbers in our table numbers by having friend stake photos of us holding the number of gerbers that represent the table. Ex. FH holding me and me holding up one gerber. Us sitting on the back of a parkbench, feet dangling and waving two gerber apiece, etc. I'll photoshop the photos b&w and then just leave the flowers color so they stand out.

A

B

If all else fails...

that sounds like a nice idea too! I think it is worth saving the money if you have the patience and know they will come out good!

I made some revisions to a Silver Spiraled Christmas tree for my December '05 wedding. It ended up saving me a bundle, and our guests raved about being able to keep a centerpiece that they could actually keep!

Re: Self made centerpieces!

we made our own, very simple in our case. we got candelabras from walmart and the fat pillar candles from target. we had rose petals from the florist to sprinkle around it. they looked great and they cost less than $20 per table. because it was so simple my RH set them up for me. we were toying with the idea of beachy centerpieces with sand, shells, and candles, but they would have been more complicated to set up and i am not sure that the RH would have beenable to do it for me.
