Selling Deposits...

Selling Deposits...

I come here feeling down but maybe this will help someone. I was going to be married on Sept 17th 2006. A few days ago due to reasons I do not want to relive the wedding has been called off.

I spoke to the event coordinator at my hall she said since the vendors will not refund my deposits the best thing to do is to sell my deposits to brides who may need them.

The deposits are for a florist and a string trio. I'm also looking to sell my wedding dress.

I'll start with the dress: an Oleg Cassini true sz8, never altered & still being held at the store. Style#CV008 it can be found on the David's Bridal website. The dress sells for $1200. I've attached two pictures of the dress. It really is unique and beautiful.

The florist deposit was for Pedestals Florist in Garden City. They're website is www.pedestalsflorist.com & the deposit made was for $500.

The last was for a string trio for the ceremont & cocktail hour through Stan Wiest in Fort Salonga. His website is www.stanwiest.com & the deposit made was for $785.

Both are House Vendors for the Jericho Terrace & are highly recommended.

If anyone is interested please contact me as soon as possible. I want to try to repay my parents for as much as I can and move on and forget the heartache. I feel getting some of these things resolved will help.

Please contact me at [email protected]

Thank you so much.

I'm sorry that you are going through this. If for some reason you are looking for a objective third party to talk to, feel free to FM me. My close friend cancelled her wedding and I helped her through. Best of luck with everything.

PS...love your dress! I wish I was a size 8.

So sorry about this -- you may want to also post this info on the '07 and '08 boards. There are probably a lot of people there that may not have vendors booked yet!

Good Luck!!

Re: Selling Deposits...

i'm so sorry you have to go through this, but maybe its for the best.

did you get your deposit back with your hall?? suffolk county law says that if you cancel 6 months or more before your wedding date, you are entitled to a FULL refund, less $100.

as for your other vendors, (ie. pedestals) did you ask them for your deposit back?? they really should give it back to you since your wedding date is 8 months away. i'm sure they will have no problem rebooking that date.

best of luck to you!

I'm sorry, but in the end it probably is for the best. It is hard to see it now (easier said than done), but you will one day. Keep smiling!!
