A few people have told me that they made some $$ selling their old gold jewelry b/c the price of gold is really high right now. Does anyone know how much it is right now and if its a good time to sell? I'd love to make some quick cash.
I sold a bunch! paid for my wedding band. I'm not sure what the price is now..but I think it is going down, so now would be a better time to sell, rather than later.
I was just thinking about that this weekend - where do you go to do it? and how do you know if you are getting its true worth or not?
I'm not sure. There's a place on my way home from work that buys it... its a jewelry store... I have NO idea what the price per oz is, so I dont know what to expect, etc.

Right now its at $881.80 the price has been going up and down between 800-1000 over that last month. It is a good time to sell but it usually goes by spot price of gold so I would look that up before you go so that you don' get ripped off. You can find it on the internet. By the way I work for a company that buys & sells gold, silver etc so if you have any other questions I might be able to help (I only know basics though)
i went to this place on Ditmars i made 450 buks lol i gave like 4 things old graduation ring and 3 necklaces...Not bad huh?

I went to Tri County, cashed in all old boyfriend jewelry and bought myself a diamond and pearl pendant to be part of my DOJ. I walked around from booth to booth to see who would give me what price. When I realized that they were all about the same, I picked a booth at random. I'm very happy that the old stuff is gone and I have a beautiful new piece. Attias Flea does it too.

Someone who I heard also earns extra money walking the streets of hempstead with orange jeans and a bad a$$ muffin top.
I was thinking of doing the same thing- I have lots of odds and ends jewelry that I found and some that I want to get rid of because I don't wear it anymore.
I sold some a few weeks ago and got $160 for it. I expected to get more, but some of what I had was 10K, not 14, and also gold plated, which I did not know. I went to a respectable jeweler in Huntington. I think if you go to a place that's been around a while, you're getting the real deal. I wouldn't go to a place that seems to scream 'WE BUY GOLD' if you know what I mean. :)
My FH sold some and got about 1200, it's great. It was just sitting around!
