A few people have told me that they made some $$ selling their old gold jewelry b/c the price of gold is really high right now. Does anyone know how much it is right now and if its a good time to sell? I'd love to make some quick cash.

Re: Selling Gold??
Recently I picked up a bracelet that I had repaired at a local jewelry shop. They told me if I had any jewelry I didn't want anymore, that the price of gold was really good now. I went home and emptied out my old jewelry box and brought back some single earrings, old high school rings, broken chains and things I never wore anymore. They gave me $650 for them! They check the jewelry out to see if it's gold plated, 10K or 14K and then weigh it and then hand you the cash. My daughter asked me to bring in a bunch of old things for her next week. It's certainly better than having it sitting gathering dust in a drawer!

Re: Selling Gold??
I recommend Fifth Avenue Jewelers on Larkfield Road across from the Post Office in East Nortport - our jeweler. Always fair prices when we sell our junk to him.
His name is Shmit.

if you're going to do it, my heartfelt advise is to do so in the diamond district-check the current penny weight price of gold (google)-they come the closest to matching & it helps that there are 200 buyers competing there, they see you hop & turn away enough that one eventually beats all

My aunt works for a jeweler in the diamond district and tells me this all the time. I should really go though all my jewlery. Sad thing is I think i through out all the crap my ex gave me because I was mad.. I shouldve made money off of him

I sold a few pieces and got $200. My pieces were VERY light and that makes a big difference. I have some other pieces I'm going to sell just need to get out to see FH's cousin!

I gave so much ex boyfriend jewelry back too! It could pay for so much right now.
