I have sold a ton of stuff on craigs list, but it has always been a cash pickup. I recently put my BM dresses up, and I got a response where a gentleman wants to pay with western union and he will pay $40 extra for shipping, any $$ extra I have to send back. This sounds too fishy!! Anyone have any advice? I hope he is for real cuz I need to get rid of these dresses!
WEstern Union is legit. It's a wire transaction, so he HAS to pay for it on his end. You go to your Western Union location, and you make sure he paid and such first. I dont think that is a problem.
Don't do it....it is a scam. They say they want to send you payment via western union, and they say they will pay you more for shipping and commissions which they want you to wire to their shipper in advance. It's a total scam. Amazing how evil people are. Becareful out there.

Positively a scam! You will see the money and then it is gone! Don't do it, you will end up with nothing. I am on Craigslist all the time. I have my business on there and I sell things personally. I have seen it all. Cash only!!!!!

yeah its totally a scam...don't do it...i had put my original wedding dress on craigslist and someone wanted to buy it...i was only selling it for $300 and they sent me a check for $2000 and wanted me to send the balance after i took out my price and shipping and then give it back to them...i didn't send them the dress because i just didn't feel good about it...yeah first of all the check was FAKE...and i've heard that if you deposit it...once it will bounce and two there's some way that they get your account information or something its weird i'm not really sure how that part works..and they tried to make me ship to a really weird address....so all i have to say is DON'T DO IT
its a scam... there are a lot of warnings... don't do it! tell them they have to send money either via paypal or certified check.
