Semi-spinoff from Michi: Hot phone voice/ugly face

I thought of this when Michi was saying that she needs to click with someone over the phone...Have you ever talked to someone on the phone and they sounded like they'd be hot, but when you saw them in person they were not hot at all??!!!

This used to happen to me all the time when I worked at an investment firm. I'm convinced it's some kind of Darwinian survival thing--they can't get a mate with their looks, so they try to lure them in with 'hot voice'

Definitely! Encountered that many a time....and how about the hottie that can't hold a conversation???

Actually Don's voice fits how he looks. OH and yes we defintely clicked on the phone. Our first conversation, he had me laughing for three hours straight.

lol, i knew aguy that was just ehh in person and even worse on the phone.. the first time we spoke on the phone i was like why r u making that funny voice!! LOL.. it was his real voice NOT A GOOD THING!!!!

I knew a guy like that in college. We all called him 'Monotone Mark'--he kept trying to hit on me, but everything came out in the same, bored tone. Except when he asked me out and I said no--he got a bit of inflection when he asked 'why not?'

This made me think of something so funny ...We have a lady here in my office who when she use to call before being hired sounded like she would be the most beautiful thing..me and the other girls use to joke about it. then she came in and we were like oh my she looks like a rollie pollie ollie....very nice though. So now we call her the voice..she does our company voice mail and all the people we deal with come in and say where is Cookie (her name too) we want to meet her and then they do and probably think the same thing we did back then.

Exactly --it's HVS (hot voice syndrome)!!
