Semi-Vent about my Mom (long)

Okay so far in the planning process, my dad has been more into it than my mom, my mom feels that oh we have time, its a year away, etc etc. Dad on the other had has been involved with everything from looking at possible dresses, to theme, to reception hall and music. Mom on the other hand half listens most of the time and complains about how much everything costs.

Fast-foward to last night, my brother's girlfriend is in town and she is in my bridal party, so last night we were talking about my wedding plans and I was showing her some bridal magazines, and here come's mom all of a sudden very interested, not in my plans but my brother's girlfriends ideas on her wedding, which by the way, they aren't even engaged YET!! Frustrated, I just left them there, they sat there for almost two hours..

I'm I being too sensitive? It just seems like she can get all excieted about my brother's stuff, but not mine.. urgh!!!

and yes, he is the baby, and the only boy.. you would think I would be used to it.. My sister is much better at ignoring this kind of stuff but she doesn't live at home anymore and have to witness it on a weekly basis..

I don't blame you for being annoyed. I would be too!! Maybe you should say something to her about it. Or would that start World War III?

No it wouldnt start WWIII but I've tried to talk to her about it before, and she blames it on being tired,stressed out, or some other excuse of the day..

I'm just asking that she try to be interested, she is happy for us, and she loves FH to death, but it's just weird, I mean my Dad is more involved than my mom.. it makes no sense to me..

You are not being over sensitive. I would be upset too. My sister made a comment last night that upset me. I was talking about makeup and she says 'Oh I don't have time for that wedding stuff right now.' She was so rude. And it wasn't even for my wedding I was helping my sisters friend get a makeup artist for her wedding which my sister is in! So l can understand why you would be upset
