sending invites out question??

When do u send out the invitations and when do ask for the responses back by?? I was just wondering if i send out my invites the end of may then responses back by mid aug. for my september 10,2004 wedding will that be enough time for the catering hall and everything and also about seating charts when do u do that after u get responses back or what?? Sorry just wondering thanks again Denise

Usually I think the invites go out 2 months before the wedding, and you ask for the response a month before the wedding date ?? 3 weeks before ? not too sure of that one- But def. send them out 2 months prior

That seems a little early to send out invites. I think I've heard people say that they usually send them out 6-8 weeks ahead of time. I'm getting married August 1st and sending them out at the end of May.

B/c of the holiday weekend, we're sending our invites out the first week in June with a RSVP of one month prior to the wedding date. We actually went to one stationary store who said it was standard to send invites out 3 months in advance...so I think it really is up to you.

We had to send our invites out during the holidays, so I sent them the first weekend in November to avoid the Christmas card mess. I think the norm is 10 weeks, gives them time to respond (haha) and your response date should be 4 weeks before the wedding. Don't worry, you will be calling people the week before to find out if they are coming or not.
