Depends on where we live. If it's still the Island, definitely public. If it's somewhere else, depends.
I think I would start off sending my kids to public school and then maybe give them some choice about going to a private high school. I think it is important for kids to learn early on that there are lots of different people in the world. Sometimes I wonder that private schools are too sheltered. If my child wants to go to a particular school to prepare for college that may be different. Some private schools have specialized programs, so if that is what the kid wants and I can afford it I will do it.
