Sending OOT packages?

Sending OOT packages?

On my knot.com checklist, it says I should be sending out the oot bags next month (we have a lot of guests flying in from CA)....so, I guess I just send an OOT to everyone that I am inviting who is coming from far away (instead of waiting to get the rsvps and sending only to the people that respond as a 'yes')?

My wedding is in NYC so I will be sending them maps and tourist info, but what else can I include? Anyone have pics of the OOT packages they sent to their guests?

I didn't know they get sent. I thought you give them to the Hotel they're staying at, and the hotel will leave them in their rooms.

this is in addition to the bags in their hotel rooms. this is mostly for my guests who are planning on coming to NYC for my wedding and are going to make a vacation out of it, so I thought it would be nice to send them some NYC info so they can plan.....just another time-consuming thing that is slowly killing me

That's such a great idea. Look at me - all selfish thinking they would only be here for the wedding. It's pretty smart to make a vacation out of it.

I know it's kind of corny, but what about things that 'symbolize' NYC - the I love NYC shirts, buttons, postcards, mini-statue of liberty and such.

What about a list of restaurants/shopping (zagat guides) or tourist attraction listings?

i wouldn't put anything perishable in there though.

I think I am going to do the I love NY stuff for the hotel bags, and am going to send brochures and stuff to them in the mail.....I don't want to get too fancy....gosh, there is so much crap that goes into planning a wedding!!

I want the hotel to give them out as people check in. Just beware, for my sister's wedding, like 5 people did not get their bags

I'm not talking about the bags in the hotel rooms, sorry.
