I have a weird question for you ladies today. When you sent out the wedding invitations did you bring them all inside to a person or did you just use the slot inside the postal lobby? TIA

if you are having them hand cancelled, you need to give them to a person, or they might give you the stamp so you can stamp it yourself.

We already bought stamps and stamped them. Now we just have to mail them out. I can't believe the time has come to mail out my invitations!

OK now I feel really dumb but what does 'hand cancelled' mean?

I gave them to the person, but forgot to stamp one so I just put it in the mailbox.
Hand cancel is when they put that date stamp on it instead of it going through a machine.

I just sent FH to the post office when we mailed mine- told him to have it hand cancelled and he just dumped them into the boxes inside the post office- no biggie tho he's a guy and didn't know better...lol

if the invite is bulky they recommend hand stamping because the machine can wrinkle the envelope. The machine will also add an ugly barcode to the bottom...
