sending out invites post-RSVP????

Okay ladies, this is a tricky situation, and I need all the help I can get here...

So today was our RSVP deadline and the wedding is in 1 month. We still have yet to hear from 88 people after counting all the responses in today's mail. That's right -- EIGHTY-EIGHT PEOPLE HAVE NOT RESPONDED!!! Which I don't even care that much about, but right now are numbers are 149 Yes and 51 NO. Out of the 88 left to respond FH and I estimate 25 will respond yes and 29 will respond no, and then we have 34 ppl we have no idea about. So there is a pretty good chance we're not going to make our 200 minimum now and I don't know what to do.... HELP?!?!?!?!

I think unfortunately you need to call up these people and find out whether or not they are coming. If you still aren't going to meet your minimum see if you can pay a higher price pp or if your RH will throw in some extras for the people you are missing, or if they'll wrap up the extra dinners for you.

Also maybe there are people (like co-workers) who won't be offended if you invite them after the fact?

Id call or email and give them another rsvp date like monday & say if i dont hear from you i am putting you down as a no then send out your B list with a note saying - the invitation company put down the wrong RSVP date or something.

you should each call your own friends if any have not responed and have your parents call the relatives that have not responed we had the issue a few people did't respond and should up but we also had some people respond yes and not show up so it worked but you have lot more people then we did out e-party was only 55 people

It's not so much the non-RSVPs I'm concerned about bc I have no problem calling to track people down which I'm doing starting on Saturday if I dont' get their card tomorrow... but I'm more concerned with inviting people so late, past the RSVP date w/o looking like a total idiot.

I would NOT send the invite with the RSVP date that already past. I would go to Michaels aand get the DIY invites...nd make my own invites with a new date.

All you need to make are new response cards, or even just send a blank response card in with the envelope for the response. I know some people who do that originally, and it seems to work out pretty well.

Good luck! 88 people not responding is incredible! I can't believe how inconsiderate people can be!

Re: sending out invites post-RSVP????

You're not the only one, ladies! After a couple calls from FH's mom to their family and a couple emails I got this morning from friends, we still have 65 no-responses still! How are people so unresponsive???? I am so worried we're not going to meet our minimum now... I need to figure out how to make my own new response cards to go with my invitations so I can mail them out to a few people. THANKS for the ideas!

your response time is within a reasonable time frame. Your wedding is a month away. You need to start calling and emailing these people. Thats insane that 88 haven't responded! I wonder of something is wrong with your mail??

ETA: it possible a good chunck on people put them in the mail today. So also maybe wait 3 days befoer making calls and sending emails...

FH's mom made some calls today and I got some emails from friends, so now we're down to 65 MIA responses (which includes invitees and their dates) so I guess it's probably about 30-40 people that didn't bother responding. Incredible! I don't think there is anything wrong with my mail as we've been getting cards and responses from other people for weeks! I think there is something wrong with the people we invited.

I def don't think it's a good idea to make new invites... You're not fooling anyone with less than a month to your wedding. I think I would feel like you were trying to trick me into thinking these were your real invites ( haha no offense I'm just trying to imagine how I would react as a guest )

I would MUCH rather get a call from a co-worker or a friend saying something more along the lines of the truth- like I would have loved to have u in the first place but space wouldn't allow it- however now I have a lower final headcount than we anticipated and we would love if you could make it. Idk I just would be like *** if I got an actual invite less than a month b4 the wedding with like a week to rsvp u know?

This is sort of what I was thinking as well... I'm not fooling anyone with 25 days left until the wedding and I don't have the time or energy to really make fake invites anyway. I think I'm going to try the 'honesty is the best policy' route and see how it goes. Thanks for the advice!!!

Re: sending out invites post-RSVP????

I got invited last minute to a co-workers wedding last year...I was not offended in the least bit. Actually, it ended up be one of the best weddings I have ever been to.
Some people might care....I was just happy to be thought of at all.

Also, it ended up that a lot of co-workers got invited last minute.....so......
